I'm not referring to McElroy's physical toughness but to his style of play. He rarely throws the ball downfield and likes to complete passes short of the first down marker on third and long. That's what I mean by cowardly play.

I don't hate him as much as you do, but our total lack of a vertical passing game has absolutely hurt the offense this year.

Give me a break. It's one drive in a blowout game. And I know a couple things about McCarron. One, he would never have taken nine fricking sacks against South Carolina. Two, he would have attempted to push the ball downfield and make things happen instead of completing 6 yard passes to covered receivers in the middle of the field when we need to score points in a hurry i.e. the entire second half of the South Carolina game and the final minute against LSU.
