we were undefeated and unscored upon. Who can dispute something like that?
See: The AP Poll and USMC Gators' stance on the 1939 Tennessee Volunteers.
Well, to be fair, those Aggie teams truly went undefeated. 1939 UT finished 10-1, indicating the AP voters may have known what they were doing by denying Tennessee the top spot and giving it to A & M.

I think the conference championship claim of 97 (won the South) and 10 (tied for South I think) are dumb.
However, regarding the NCs. A&M has claimed them for some time. For some odd reason not on the stadium, but in the media guides they've been on there. Why the inconsistency is beyond me, but we've claimed those before.

They were championships awarded by the conference.

SEC fans-
What is your opinion of Big 12 fans posting things about "aggy" on this board, regardless of whether it is something you agree with or not?

1938, get it right.

I don't really dispute that one anymore, but even most Vol fans I know laugh about 40 and 67.

Are you saying fans of Big12 teams, or fans of the Big12 conference? Because we know for a fact that the latter is a myth

Yea this is super lame and helps further perpetuate all the stereotypes that you get your bad rep for aggies. You realize all you have to do to recognize your division championship is create a seperate listing for that? Trying to call your division championships as Conference championships is so Ole Miss. Well, actually that's not even true. At least Ole Miss actually called it a western division Championship.

It is a number on the side of a stadium. As much as I love college football, and my University, it is impossible for me to get worked up over this, or to care at all. But aggsession noted. Thanks ang gig em.

Actually Texans know A LOT about BBQ. We have more diversity of BBQ than anywhere else. It takes serious skill to get a properly smoked brisket to be moist. It takes even more skill to make it melt in your mouth wonderful without BBQ sauce.
To me that is the test of great BBQ. Anyone can take pork, chop it up, throw some sweet sauce on it and make it taste good. Real skill is taking something like beef and making it moist and to be able to use minimal sauce (certainly not bathing it in the stuff) and letting the flavor of the meat dominate the dish. Spicy sauces are also far more challenging to get right than sweet sauces.
Also in the South everything tends to be smoked with hickory. Hickory is fine but properly aged oak or mesquite gives a lot more savory flavor. Too often when I have been in Tennessee or Missouri it is almost like having dessert there is so much sugar in the sauce. If you go to the Carolinas it is that heinous mustard/vinegar stuff and always just pulled pork bathed in the sauce. I wish you could at least keep the meat and the sauce separated so you can add as much as you want as opposed to just tasting sauce. A properly smoked pork shoulder with a good rub is great on its own, why screw it up with a gallon of sauce?
I will admit that not all Texas BBQ is created equal though, not by a long shot. You need to know where you are going to get the good stuff. Personally even though I am a libertarian and hate big government I would be fine with regulating all Texas BBQ to make sure it meets quality standards.

Wow, where did they get 7 for Texas from? Didn't they only win it in 96, 05, and 09?
