Mond is enigmatic he can look great at times but may just be too inconsistent, I’m not sure you can blame Fisher for all of that. He still has an overall good track record with QBs.
If you only look at this season you can probably still feel decently about where you are. Only one game was ugly, A&M certainly competed and showed some fight vs UGA, and the Bama game without the punt returns was also closer that it looked.
On a bigger picture I would also think any reasonable A&M fan has to be at least somewhat concerned. Mostly because Fisher was already showing some signs of decline at FSU. That is undeniable and something Aggies just chose to ignore.

I’m not sure if you’re asking a question to solicit our opinions, or if you’re looking for a way to follow your one sentence question with 6 sentences of your opinion? Smooth and understandable, either way.
I am being 100% honest with you when I say I feel no differently about Fisher today than I did the day he was hired.
I was never a Fisher groupie—and I had my reservations when he signed on the dotted line (still do)—but I think he’s an outstanding coach, and I trust our decision makers (namely, Scott Woodward, the 12th Man Foundation Board, and the big money donors).
He’s as qualified as anyone.
And right now the university is pumping so much money into athletics, it’s tough for anyone not to succeed.
That said, our entire university recognizes the obscenity that was this year’s schedule.
That’s not an excuse (I loathe excuses, ref complaining, etc.); it’s just the way it is.
There isn’t a coach out there who would’ve made it through this year’s A&M schedule unscathed.
So year two aside, this season was going to be one long exhibition game, regardless.
I’m a believer in giving a coach five years to solidify his program.
I recognize that flies in the face of the era that is “Chad Morris for 1.5 years;” but I work in an industry where immediate turnarounds are all but impossible.
So my expectations are far more conservative when compared to the mean.
I want to close by saying LSU’s performance on Saturday was sick.
As terrible as we looked, y’all MADE us look terrible.
The Tigers deserve that credit; A&M is not a bad team—and we were well tested headed into Baton Rouge.
But I don’t think there’s a team out there right now who could beat y’all.
So don’t diminish your victory by looking at ways to blame Fisher and the Ags.
Y’all just flat out beat us like a drum.

Jimbo never offered Mond a scholarship at FSU even though Mond played at IMG his senior year and was rated a 5* recruit on 1 site and a high 4* on the others. Jimbo must not have believed Mond would be very good in his system. He's not a QB magician, so I don't blame him for not being able to turn Mond into a top QB. This is likely the best Mond can be. The true test for Jimbo will be what he does with the next QB (Calzada, King or Stowers)

I don't care about 7-5. It was my prediction coming in. It was a nightmare schedule, and its a young team. Jimbo is recruiting really well, but right now we don't have the speed to compete with elite teams.
I do however, have a problem with HOW we lost to LSU and Auburn. LSU is a much better team this year, but as you said, getting blown out like that is inexcusable.
The most worrisome part is the O-line. That was his issue at FSU, and its a big issue this year. Well see how it goes.

quote:I'm still just neutral. He's done some exciting things, but hasn't put it together on the field. Barring a slew of crazy injuries, 2020 should be a big tell in how things are going. Almost a full team of his players, and a perfect schedule. Won't be much room for finger pointing.
Are you still as upbeat about Jimbo Fisher?

Shouldn’t a $75MM coach manage to find a way to win one of those? I get that the schedule was difficult but that’s just how things are in this conference. Highly compensated coaches are expected not to lose all of them.

Well if you got your 7.5 million dollar, golden boy, with the cool office Wall Mural and Souvenir Cup, money’s worth ...
ALL OF THEM!
Our Shrimp Boat Captain with his $4 million dollar salary did!
Jimbo Fisher and his Traveling Dumpster Fire, pulls into College Station, A$M sees LSU sloppy seconds, and throws a 75 million dollar wedding!
I hear the baby looks like the Chief!

As an LSU fan I know my opinion doesn't matter much but I think you can throw this year out the window due mainly to scheduling and also that it's just Jimbo's second year. That being said, with that schedule next year, Texas A&M should win 10 games including a bowl win. if that doesn't happen then people should start worrying.

Wait, how long has O been at LSU?

Aggies should not feel great about this season. Jimbo was brought in to win atleast one of these tough games and 43 pt blowouts are unacceptable. No development of Mond or the offense and some very ugly wins against bad teams like Arkansas and Ole Piss. Year two showed no improvement regardless of record and competition. Most impressive game is a 6pt loss to UGA

Definitely upbeat. Opinion would change if the results don’t improve in another 2-3 yrs.

Okay.
What are we supposed to say to this?
You're right?
Fine. You're right.
Jimbo should be able to beat at least one of the 5 top-10 teams he faces.
Jimbo should be able to beat at least one team with a winning record, even though all those teams are top-10 teams.
We should fire the AD who hired him and gave him such a shitty contract. That motherfricker is a disgrace to his alma mater.

This. As hard as the schedule was next year, it's about as easy (by SEC standards) next year. If we aren't a double digit wins (including the bowl) I'll be disappointed. Throw another top 8ish recruiting class in the mix and I think we'll be in good shape beyond 2020. Whether or not we'll be special depends on whether or not we'll be able to find a QB who has "it."

We have 4 senior scholarship players on the team.

Can't be any shittier than the $75 million one the prior one hired. That dude must be a fricking idiot from a shitty school.

It’s entirely possible that Fisher will outlast the AD.
Who knows?
If there’s anything I’ve learned about college sports, it’s that things rarely unfold the way people predict,

169 total yards? Hmm sooo your O line is worse than almost every team we played?
You need to move on from Mond. I dont think 4 is the answer but he got put in a tough spot and shite himself as well. Hell i felt bad for you for a second but you guys will be talking mad shite in a week so NOPE
Suck it.
