I was hoping Updyke's brother would throw marbles on the street while the A&M band did their little gay pride parade into the stadium.

Not a criticism against your fanbase, I just didn't know how we showed up. I thought we sold all of our tickets but then saw the empty areas. I know some of the schools that do the non-assigned seating for the student sections have that problem of the students over crowding the more favorable areas.

My roommate said he fell in love about 6 times while he was there. Heard it was a great atmosphere and your fans had nothing but class. Wish I had gone...

We are all very frustrated with the situation. Fire codes are broken in the lower bowl and empty seats exist up top. It is a shitty spot.

Both the husband (Michigan) and I agreed Bama/Ttown is the pinnacle of college football roadtrips. Loved tailgating, loved the stadium, loved the fans and atmosphere, loved Archibalds and Waysider (sat at Bear's table)-just had a great time. Bama fans were welcoming before the game and gracious after. We will definitely be back!

Everyone else I know who attended was similarly blown away. Hats off!

From TexAgs premium:

quote:

Alabama fans were the best fans I have ever interacted with on the day of a football game. Prior to the game I received lots of welcomes to our new conference and "Roll Tides." After the game I received nothing but congratulations handshakes and compliments on how hard our team played. Bryant-Denny was the loudest venue I have ever been to when it counted. I call it a draw with the Kyle Field Nebraska game in 2010 which I attended and sat in a similar position. Bama fans were better after a loss than any Big 12 team was after a win. Great years ahead for the Texas A&M football experience

I agree 100% with your comments about the Bama fans.

Just curious how your trip was.

Besides the game, the trip to Tuscaloosa was fantastic. The hospitality shown by all Bama fans of all ages was incredible.

We spent Saturday morning on campus, took in the Bryant Museum, stood with a hundred or so tide fans as the players and coaches walked across the big "A" in front of the museum from one bldg to another, made our way arounc campus to the quad and finally to the game. Sat in the middle of Bama season ticket holders and cheered our Ags until the end and the joined in the celebration in the corner after the game. Hit the strip for a few hours and then called it an evening. Back to hotel and had drinks with fellow Ags and a handful of Bama fans.

The class of Bama fans is second to none in my experience. Been to a lot of games in a lot of stadiums and never experienced anything like this. I though Ags treated opposing fans well but Bama is second to no one in terms of hospitality. My hat is definitely off to you guys.

I know it was a tough loss but even after the game Bama fans were fantastic. No bitching about referees or the usual BS excuses.

We spoke with dozens of Aggies and just about every single one we spoke to had similar experiences.

Proud to be in the SEC with you guys.

I had a great time! Fans were very gracious before and after the game. I was expecting something more hostile but didn't see it.
With that said, I got plenty of warnings on making a trip to Baton Rouge (been there, done that in the late 80's / early 90's), Gainsville (looking forward to it) and Knoxville (I'll cross that bridge in the next decade when we actually get to go there).

Again, Bama fans were great and I heard many times how they felt there was a long history between our two schools even though we've only played each other less than a handful of times.

Absolutely blown away by the hospitality and atmosphere this weekend. Before, during, and after the game, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Tuscaloosa and the campus remind me in a lot of ways of College Station/A&M. Your bar area and tailgating scene is also very similar to ours. Your campus is laid out better and easier on the eyes (more big trees and more well thought out architecture), but overall the two towns/schools are much more similar than I'd have thought.

Went in with meh expectations of the fans and came out blown away by the generosity and hospitality of the Bama fans (ALL AGES).

I agree with texasaggie08... T Town and CS are a lot alike.

Where did all the LSU and Vol fans go that were posting on this thread?
It just goes to show that classless a-hole fans from ANY school will be abused, and decent, respectful ones will be welcomed.

Obviously I'm not an Aggie, but I've been to Tuscaloosa once for the 2007 game. Atmosphere was great and fans were very nice and welcoming. Even had an Alabama fan warn us about our open containers and invited us to his tailgate to get plastic cups. Even after the game, some Bama fans went out of their way to congratulate us on the win. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for future games.

I also had a great experience in College Station last month. Great fans and an oddly SEC-like tailgate experience...best smelling/tasting BBQ I think I've had.

I will, however, NEVER return to Gainesville. Went a few years ago and will make it a point to never return.

The tailgate was great... had about 100 people, and we had a blast on the Strip Friday and Saturday Night.

Hit Bear Trap, Houndstooth and one other that I don't remember.
