Well, You revised history to suit your argument.

If you pay attention to more than Bama games you will have a leg to stand on when recalling what actually happened in the past.

So, you're telling me that teams played their safeties up on the line to stop the vaunted Arky rushing attack back when Davis got his yards?

If not, then what history did I revise?

"Look at the defenses he was facing when he got those yards - a bunch of db's on the field, all playing the pass because, frankly, teams knew that through the air was the only way Arky was going to beat them."

That was your quote Teague.

I wasn't talking about playing 8 or 9 in the box. Davis did his rushing against quality defenses and a lot of his yards were gained in the 4th quarter when those teams knew what was coming. So yes I believe that some of the time the safeties were up ..... especially against LSU.

I have no idea what obscure point you're trying to make, but I stand by my statement. Teams played Arky for the pass, and that's why Davis was able to do as well as he did. Davis faced a lot of nickle and dime defenses, and very few 8/9 man fronts.

Sweet...Than I look forward to Davis to be the top RB in the SEC again this year.

This is a pretty bad argument from a good poster

Maybe he WILL lead the SEC in rushing this year, but that doesn't make him the best RB in the SEC. That's my point. I don't know what John L. Smith plans to do with your offense, but if it's more balanced than it has been, defenses will play it accordingly. And, in that case, those wide open lanes to the downfield DB's won't be there as often for Davis.

What difference does it make. Alabama has rushed the football for over 200 yards or close to 200 yards every year since 2008 on Arkansas. Arkansas has not had any success rushing against Alabama since 2008.

Now I suppose to believe that will change this season. Nevermind the fact that Arkansas has lost the mastermind of their offense or that Knile Davis is returning from a horrible injury. Arkansas lost two or three offensive linemen. Alabama will have probably their best offensive line ever under Saban and their best and deepest defensive line under Saban.

Ok

It's Latt or Davis...You can pick your own side.

nothing

We were a running team the last half of the season in 2010...I expect 2012 to be similar but with better QB play.

Nope. Both had career scaring injuries, and Lacy has a higher YPC. Lattimore healthy like before injury > Lacy. Davis before his injury < Lacy. Davis after his injury < Lacy. And your argument is pointless because you're and Arkansas fan and Im an Alabama fan. You need a college football fan to decipher who the best is because they dont care and just spit it out. Other fan bases will go with the player they dont hate as much.

Well improving our defensive coaching and having the best defensive line we've had since 2008 makes me believe that yes, it will change

Lulz at thinking doing that against our 2008 and 2009 teams was such a big accomplishment

Knile Davis is returning from a horrible injury

One that he's already recovered from before

Not to mention he's already back at 100%

No way I am going to read this entire thread, but the only advantage any Arkansas fan needs to worry about is a man named Saban. The best Arkansas coach in the last 20 years couldn't beat him in 4 tries, I doubt John L. Smith is the man to get the job done.

Winning against our 2008 and 2009 teams wasn't any big accomplishment. Nutt left the team completely devoid of talent on either side of the ball, and getting us to the Sugar Bowl in just 3 years was pretty damn good. Plus, every game Petrino coached in the defense was being coached by Willy, and he had to work with basically a defense that was a huge liability. Over the course of the offseason our defense has made huge strides under Haynes and Johnson, plus we have the deepest defensive line we've probably ever had. Not to mention we'll have two great corners (Winston has already shown improvement due to Haynes and he has 5 star ability, Willy just drove him into the ground) and Tevin is a 4 star who plays like a 5 star. Our safety position is a bit of a liability but Lowe and and Gaines have really stepped it up and Rasner gives us some great size back there. And with Tank, Alonzo, and Otha I feel great about our linebackers. Not to mention on offense we return all of our starting offensive linemen, return a 5th year senior quarterback who will go in the first round of the draft, and get Knile Davis back, not to mention DJ and Wingo

So yes, we have the best chance of beating you this year that we've had in a while

You guys say the same thing about your defensive line every year. Alabama ran over them last season but now they will be so good that we will have trouble this year with the best offensive line under Saban
