They owe Jimbo $76 million

His assistants’ buy outs will cost 10’s of millions

The buy out if whoever they hire, assuming they are currently coaching, will likely be another $50ish million, assuming they go for a splash hire.

They’ll have to pay their players and recruits millions not to jump ship.

All while the price of oil is dropping.

They are scared to death of having to compete with Texas again.

A fool and his money are soon parted I guess.

Put Art bridles on the list of possible replacements. He’s not working and would likely agree to a highly variable contract based on wins. They will literally do ANYTHING to win.

I remember when this forum said we didn’t have the money to fire him. Which is it, steer?

You lose $5000 it hurts. Elon Musk loses $50,000 he doesn’t even notice it. In the scheme of things and what is on the line it is a drop in a bucket.

It’s a big chunk of cheese for sure.
Glad I’m not writing the check.
But UTex has little to do with it—at least not directly.

The PsTB are disappointed in Fisher’s failure to compete since 2018.
That’s emblematic of our record against SEC teams.

Your argument may make sense if we were having this discussion 5 years from now and the Ags had reeled off too many Ls against the horns during that time.
But today the ladies from Austin aren’t the issue.

Nobody said y’all didn’t have it. But y’all are spending money like the US government and eventually that money will run out

Yet John Sharpe had to beg the Texas legislature for money just a 2 or 3 years ago?

This thread reminds me of a comment about Elon Musk's losses with the Twitter deal.
When someone said that the guy was so wealthy that he had frick you money to spend, then someone replied, "hell, he's got a lot more money than that....he's got frick ME money!"

They just proved this with the Jimbo Experience.

And they are going to try it again.

All the money in the world isn't going to make you win in the SEC.

This is the definition of insanity.

A key difference: We’re at least spending money we have.
Fedgov spends money they’ve yet to steal.
But I feel you; no Ag is happy giving Fisher another dime.

Honestly, it really isn’t a UT thing. They are just fed up.

They left the big 12 because of Texas.

They paid $30 million for the highest rated recruiting class in history after it was announced that Texas was joining the SEC.

The fist Texas / a$m game in 11 years is almost exactly a year away and they are going to drop in the neighborhood of $150 million to rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic…. But it’s not about Texas (hint: it’s always about Texas)

We left the B12 for the same reason your school did: To join the nation’s best athletic conference. Getting away from y’all was a bonus.

You can try to make this a horn deal—and make no mistake about it, we don’t like you—but your team didn’t figure into Fisher’s lackluster performance and subsequent dismissal.
