I'd like to take this opportunity to dispel the myth that the SEC has been at an unfair advantage playing higher ranked ACC teams in these games....Below are the matchups with final ranking in each team's respective division. Out of the 20 games, the ACC and SEC each had the higher ranking team an even 10 times. The ACC won 14 of these games. When you take into account that the SEC East is the weaker of the two divisions in the SEC, it makes the notion that the ACC is beating up on the SEC's doormats look even dumber because the rest of the games played between the two conferences the last 5 years are going to include mostly teams like Alabama, Auburn, and LSU.

2018

#1 Clemson vs. #4 South Carolina
#5 FSU vs. #3 Florida
#7 Louisville vs. #2 Kentucky
#2 Georgia Tech vs. #1 UGA

2017

#1 Clemson vs. #2 South Carolina
#6 FSU vs. #5 Florida
#5 Louisville vs. #3 Kentucky
#3 Georgia Tech vs. #1 UGA

2016

#1 Clemson vs. #5 South Carolina
#3 FSU vs. #1 Florida
#2 Louisville vs. #4 Kentucky
#5 Georgia Tech vs. #3 UGA

2015

#1 Clemson vs. #7 South Carolina
#2 FSU vs. #1 Florida
#3 Louisville vs. #5 Kentucky
#7 Georgia Tech vs. #3 UGA

2014

#2 Clemson vs. #5 South Carolina
#1 FSU vs. #3 Florida
#3 Louisville vs. #6 Kentucky
#1 Georgia Tech vs. #2 UGA

The last SEC-ACC game I watched was hella unfair.

Looked like an NFL team vs a peewee team.

So you're proving the SEC has been at an unfair disadvantage?

Just a reminder to you as to who your DADDY is, Tigerlilly.

Since 2014 (CFP began), UGA's 6-2 vs. ACC, including your ponderosa being pickled and fed to Danny Ford's sons and daughters, 45-21 (2014), the last time the Purple & Orange (Christian Dior, YSL, Gucci, and the rest turn over in their graves) dare tred into the Land of Regal Red & Tuxedo Black (Farmer Ford's descendants are still trembling). I'll throw in the Dawgs wins over CU in 7 of last 8 meetings, too.

Feel better, now?

Selah.

Am I the only one who is embarrassed that the SEC has to be represented by UK and USCe in the "ACC/SEC rivalry"?
Not to mention UGA and UF have largely been shitting the bed recently in these games, too.

Now do conference as a whole outside rivalry. Rivalries, are a different game, anyone can win any Saturday when it comes to rivals. ACC sports sucks overall compared to the SEC.

Man Clemson fans are just so insecure when it comes to the SEC. Even winning multiple championships can’t fix that little bro mindset

Excuse me, AlaBUBBA?? Y'all sure laid a giant TURD last year vs. CU. Oh, I get it..."but, it didn't stank".

Right, none of BUBBA's turds stank. They never stank. Y'all have manure on the brain.

While I appreciate the effort, are these rankings when they played or rankings at the end of the season? I remember once when UK was all excited about beating Alabama but by the end of the season the win was far less impressive as Bama had a terrible year that year.

2014-2018 total winning %:

ACC #1 Clemson vs SEC #12 SC
ACC #2 FSU vs SEC #5 UF
ACC #7 UL vs SEC #10 UK

SEC #2 UGA vs ACC #8 GTU

Thats a big ACC advantage overall, which really skews the numbers.

It feels like this post-season not the year to make this point.

Your in-division rankings are worthless when comparing conferences - conf ranking is all that matters.

The following in-conf rankings are according to Sagarin:

Clemson vs So Car:
2014: 2, 12 Clemson
2015: 1, 12 Clemson
2016: 1, 14 Clemson
2017: 1, 6 Clemson
2018: 1, 10 Clemson

FSU vs Florida:
2014: 3, 10 FSU
2015: 2, 8 FSU
2016: 2, 3 FSU
2017: 6, 11 FSU
2018: 11, 5 Florida

Louisville vs UK:
2014: 4, 13 UL
2015: 3, 13 UL
2016: 5, 11 UK
2017: 5, 10 UL
2018: 13, 9 UK

GT vs Georgia:
2014: 1, 2 GT
2015: 8, 7 UGA
2016: 6, 7 GT
2017: 9, 2 UGA
2018: 6, 2 UGA

Clemson vs Alabama:
2014: dnp
2015: 1,1 Alabama
2016: 1,1 Clemson
2017: 1,1 Alabama
2018: 1,1 Clemson

The higher ranked team within its conf won all 20 games except for UK #11 beating #5 Louisville in 2016. Amazing. The relative ACC team positions were usually far above the SEC teams' positions. For the first 3 years even GT/UGA were very close.

Of course Clemson and Bama were always tied at number 1 and split 4 games.

As a Clemson fan, I'm not sure why you are so defensive. The last 5 years you have shown that you are better than the rest and almost equal with the SEC's best: Alabama on a historical run. Being the current champs you have the edge at the moment. All this shows is that Alabama has a harder road to get to the CFP, but that's not Clemson's fault. They've shown that they are willing to play tough OOC games.

As a Clemson fan I really don’t get it either. I think the titles speak for themselves. Who cares what anybody says.

So at least one of you are sane. Congrats! This was my first thought, too. Clemson has won 2 of the past 3 NC's... why do this?
