“dizziness, blacking out and vomiting”. That is not specific to a brain tumor. In fact, in a football player going through practice it would be more likely dehydration and overheating/hyperthermia. They likely treated it as such. If his symptoms then resolved then he would be cleared, particularly if he had no headache or cranial nerve abnormalities.

You, SidewalkTiger, LSUSthephen, memphisplaya, and tigerskin have somehow managed to make LSU look even creepier and weirder than the original story did.

I hate he's dealing with all of this. By all accounts was a great guy when he played for Arkansas. But I have zero sympathy for LSU's tampering asses. You recruit your problem fools. Pay the man his money.

It would appear that you and LSU’s training staff possess the same understanding of potentially serious neurological signs.

The LSU player was exhibiting clear signs that could have been neurological in nature. Enough so that the staff misdiagnosed it initially as a neurological disorder, vertigo. They cleared him to return to practice. The player was not suffering from vertigo but instead had a brain tumor. This would have been immediately obvious if the medical staff had simply performed an MRI, just one more of the 40 million performed annually in the US. They did not for over a month.

And now we are on our way towards 10 pages of LSU fans rationalizing it.

bullshite, about a third of this thread is you trying to come to terms with the fact that this is a fricking turn on for you.

Go jack off. I think you're a weird autistic fricker, but I don't wish blue balls on anyone.

His obsession is wild.

I do think he may actually be a little autistic. Nobody would go through that much effort to hate post unless they had some kind of retardation.

He seems actually seems to be excited over the fact that the kid had medical issues.

Sad.

I personally don't care how it "looks". We're only hearing one side of the story, the end result is all that really matters.

What's sad is that the slave masters, not far removed from the 'Ole Louisanner plantations, convinced this young man that nothing was wrong with him other than vertigo.

They did this so their "employee" wouldn't miss any days of labor in the fields. He didn't need to go see a doctor, the xPurts at LSU convinced him for over 30 days that he had a little case of crooked/clogged ear canal.

As this naive and trusting young soul, who put his very life in the hands of the hick overseers of Baton Rouge, staggered around looking drunk and puking all over the fricking place day after day after day, he paid the dearest of prices.

Now the children of the plantation owner, the LSU fans, slag him and his memory off like a cripple that can't pick the crops any longer and has no use to them.

Not only are demons like you saying it was his fault for not immediately going to the Mayo Clinic, his fault for "choosing" to go to a shitwater surgery clinic in fetid and backwater Baton Rouge, his fault for waiting, his fault for believing LSU medical personnel, etc...but that he is money hungry and likely wants to party and have a good time with the millions he is likely seeking from the angelic and fault free, benevolent masters who gave him a home and place to live.

frick all LSU fans and frick their shitty gumbo and cheaply made, shitty food.

He should hire some hitmen from the Bama Basketball team to pay Kelly a visit, am I right?

Speaking of how things look, you ignored an earlier question.

When is the last time a SEC player; a team captain at that, went on Good Morning America with his father and declared the school he played for had ruined his life?

To just about everyone but those in purple and gold this is a bad look for LSU.

But they are consistent it seems. Just like they seem to have ignored Greg Brooks symptoms for over a month hoping they would just go away, they seem to be ignoring this lawsuit and bad press hoping it will just go away.

While this is the first time it seems to have made the general national news, LSU has been getting drug through the mud for a while. And the powers that be at LSU don’t seem to have much to say. Which looks pretty damning. But as bad as the GMA interview was, it has nothing on this article from November 2024 in the ‘Healthcare Journal of New Orleans’

BEHIND THE FAÇADE OF CONCUSSION PROTOCOLS: GREG BROOKS JR.’S LAWSUIT LIFTS THE VEIL ON LSU’S LACK OF NEUROLOGICAL CARE AND HIGHLIGHTS A BLEAKER REALITY FOR LOUISIANA COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS

It has a lot more detailed information on the situation and the lawsuit than the GMA piece. And it makes LSU look even more neglectful.

quote:

In August 2024, former LSU defensive back Greg Brooks Jr. filed a lawsuit against Louisiana State University (LSU), its Board of Supervisors, and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, alleging gross negligence in the handling of his medical condition during the 2023 football season. Brooks, who transferred to LSU from the University of Arkansas in 2022, began experiencing symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, and balance issues during an August practice. Despite these warning signs, he alleges that LSU staff pressured him to continue practicing and playing, threatening his starting position if he did not comply.

The lawsuit contends that LSU team trainers misdiagnosed his symptoms as vertigo, delaying a referral to a specialist for weeks. By the time an MRI was conducted on September 14, 2023, it revealed a cancerous brain tumor requiring immediate surgery. Performed the following day by Dr. Brandon Graynor—who is a defendant in the lawsuit—the procedure at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center resulted in multiple strokes, leaving Brooks permanently disabled.

Also named in the lawsuit are LSU head coach Brian Kelly, former defensive coordinator Matt House, former safeties coach Kerry Cooks, head athletic trainer Owen Stanley, and team doctors Stephen Etheredge and Vincent Shaw. The lawsuit argues that these individuals failed to act on clear neurological symptoms, neglected concussion protocols, and delayed necessary care, compounding Brooks’ injuries.

I have no doubt that LSU and all the parties named would love to come to an out of court settlement. But I am not sure that will happen. It seems like the Brooks family is out for justice.

These cases will be decided on what is the best common practice for the presentation of the patient.

If Brooks presents with nausea and vomiting that stops, what would be the best common practice for that presentation?

Continue to add his symptoms reoccurring/progressing and days of no symptoms. Jumping from his initial presentation to diagnosing a brain tumor is a Dr House episode. Not real life. Most doctors would miss this early on. They aren't expected to be Gods but should always follow best common practice or protocols. It's not common to make that miraculous, unexpected diagnosis.

This is an act of God based on what we know so far and negligence seems iffy. I guess we'll find out.
