I equate a final four appearance to winning the CFP.

So, winning a championship is not the same as winning a championship.

You don't think maybe a Final Four appearance might be equal to making the Playoffs? I mean it gets you down to 4 teams. They are both Final Four.

Got it. I played a long time ago. The only people that had long hair were some of the white kids....and I can assure you, they got their hair pulled every single game.

And yeah, pulling hair is kinda like spitting. You just dont do it.

But no problem with raking a chin strap buckle across somebody's chin?

quote:

Fairley eating Murray’s chin was fair game though.

I guess you answered that question. Pulling hair is too far and thugish.....doing bodily harm that could require stitches is fair game.

Hasn't anybody played football?

You keep asking this as if hair isn’t mostly covered by the helmet already. And during backyard football, hell nah there wasn’t any hair pulling.

WTH is wrong with you.

He was unarguably the dirtiest player I have ever seen in football.

Much harder to get to the Final 4. Then you have to win 6 straight games to win it all compared to two games in the CFP. The math says it all.

he probably would have inspired his team if he had gotten up and would have taken a swing at him. Instead of the drama of having an OL do the work

Wait. I thought Fairley was playing dirty in retaliation. Now Ben Jones was retaliating? Auburn fans have me confused big time now.

I still love being 13-7 over AU since 2001 with an SECCG win over them...success or lack of, nonwithstanding.

I mean, damn...That kind of W/L record the last 20 meetings is like UF beating us for so long.

The reason is because football is a much more physical game. Of course you won't play as many football games as basketball. Look at the regular season.

Based on the UGA Game ? Because he was never flagged before that.

Since when?NFL has said that it's part of the uniform and "fair game".I've seen more than one runner pulled down from his lock's.

This sin't backyard football. Seriously./ I can assure you a lot worse gets done at the bottom of pile ups.

People grab your jewels, gouge eyes, jam their fingers down your throat, slam your head down on the ground....but you are worried about hair pulling.

Maybe your guy should have been playing backyard football?

All I said was I miss Fairley. I’m glad all of the above are acceptable but not a mean old man touching your QB too hard.

Yall keep saying this like it's no big deal. Murray said he pulled 3 of his dreads OUT of his fricking scalp. I mean, you cant not expect any retaliation to someone after doing something like that. It's a bitch move.

Never once had penalty called him in his college career? Find it hard to believe but he had plenty called on em in the NFL

Yeah that makes sense. Hair is part of the uniform and not the body.

Just based on the math. How many D1 Football teams have a realistic shot at making the CFP ? How many BB team can make the Big Dance ? In football you have 6 weeks to prepare for the first game. In BB you might have a little as 4 days.

The wear and tear on BB today is as bad as any sport. In the past a team would play 20-25 games before the tournament. Today they have played that many by early January and the Conference Championships can include as many a 4 games. In football you can make the CFP without even winning your division. And then have 7 weeks to prepare for your first game.

Can't blame you for that. I mean, nobody wants a sissy on the DLine. You need big nasty's to win.

Don't misunderstand, I don't like what he did to Murray and think a lot of it was unnecessary and dirty. But, I would be t anybody that fusses about him would take him on their team.

Who said it was acceptable? I said that is some of the stuff that goes on, and for somebody to be complaining about getting their hair pulled....well....

Boo hoo! Did he have to leave the game so he could get extensions? I saw an NFL player who pulled a helluva lot more than that when he tackled someone by their dreads.

There is no comparison between the physicality of football vs basketball. You trying to diminish the CFP because they only play 2 games is ridiculous.

That's immaterial. Very few of the basketball teams that make it to the tournament have a chance to win it.

I mean, when you wind down to 4 teams it is four teams. If it is so easy to get to the playoffs, why have so few teams made it?

If it is so easy to make the Championship game, why have so few teams done it?

quote:

In football you have 6 weeks to prepare for the first game. In BB you might have a little as 4 days.

That has more to do with the nature of the game than it does anything else.

Basketball is a wear and tear sport, no doubt. But no. It is not as hard as football on the body.
