It won't be that bad. Texas as a state is VERY conservative with oil evaluation. I bet this value is based on a $60/65-ish dollar a barrel range. So not a huge haircut.

Still that is a great advantage for A&M in the academic future. New buildings will have to be built, old buildings renovated.

Arkansas just passes the hat around to one of our billionaires to pony up in exchange for naming rights. Three hundred years from now expect to see the Hunt Tyson Walton Old Main building.

Don't worry, University of Texas regents run the investment company, it'll be OK.

Why did the Aggies get one-third of the oil money, you say? Because they got first choice...

Makes sense, especially in a highly publicized endowment structure like the state education endowment. I'm sure the risk level is highly scrutinized.

We do that for all public evaluations in Texas. If not our state budgets get crazy with booms and busts on the tax side.

I have to give credit where credit is due- they seem to do a good job. Too bad those financial wizards couldn't stop Deloss from seeing the total cost of ownership of the LHN was far too high.

I love the Aggie little brother complex so fricking much

Mississippi State fans will fight Ole Miss fans (since they're rednecks). Auburn fans are like a bunch of gossiping old ladies and love to bad mouth Alabama; basically, they'd love nothing more than to see Alabama fall from grace in a pile of their own shite, but want nothing to do with it.

Aggie is straight up terrified of Texas.

I don't get it. Are you attempting to make fun of UT for having a diverse student population?

I wouldn't fight anyone.
Badmouth? Sure, when warranted.
There isn't a single thing about UTex that terrifies me.
They were my second choice of school for two of my degrees.
Some of my family is there; the rest of us are Aggies.

Yall can't compare your rivalries with the A&M - UTex rivalry (of yesteryear, anyway).
Totally different animals.
Don't try to understand it--you won't.

Not at all; I was showing various groups of theirs who've swooped in to protest anything/everything.
The ethnicities in those photos are a moot point; their progressivism, however, isn't.
Diversity is a very good thing--one of my favorite aspects of both UTex and Texas A&M Universities.

Any SWC school and their rivalry with Texas is hard to explain to outsiders and by all means, as bitter as the Horns and Hogs can be, I freely admit the Aggies are on another level to the rest of the old SWC when it comes to Texas.

I'm not saying one is better/worse; just that the two are completely different.
Granted, my conclusion is based on three years' observatio--nothing more.
But the differences are huge.

You have completely misread this whole thing. It is, in fact, the exact opposite. With half the advantages and 1/3 the PUF, the gap would seem to be 3 times as big between the two institutions, but there is barely a gap at all. With living alumni numbers starti g to even out, something has got to give. Who is scared of whom?

#s 2-14 total $12,509,734,000

How in hell is A&M's endowment of $7,638,555,000 triple, or even double that amount ????? What kind of math is that ??????????
