I'm sure some of you have come across the Baylor news today.
Why would anyone here give a shite about Baylor, they have nothing to do with the SEC.

If he were to admit he just listens to Finebaum on repeat rather than switching to national news, can you honestly say you would be surprised?

This isn't about Baylor Football.
This is about a university turning a blind eye to doing the right thing and placing winning above humanity,
It's a very disconcerting story; I hope the best for the young woman involved.

I really get tired of programs letting scumbags like that hang around. Its one thing when guys smoke pot, get in a fight, or drink in public. This dude was bad news and I don't think anyone in college football's word is taken more seriously than Chris Petersen.

We don't play Baylor and they are a secondary recruiting rival. They rarely keep their best guys that commit early.

It is what it is. I hope it falls on Briles more than Baylor, he's a scumbag.

At the end of the day, Briles is to blame for bringing a known tpos to Waco...blood is on his hands..hopefully they burn beyond repair for this.

Let's look beyond the football aspect here for a second because it doesn't seem like Baylor was able to- if Briles knew about the allegations he should never have accepted the transfer in the first place - this wasn't a stolen laptop this was domestic abuse allegations- it was crap that Mett was able to gain admission at LSU it's crap that Mixon is still at OU (and that they took the Mizzou WR).

To compound the earlier mistake by acting like they did once a the guy was indicted is nuts. For all the crap we rightly give FSU even Jumbo would have kicked the guy if the initial police coverup failed and enough evidence was left lying around to make a case.

UTw fans care WAY more about this (hence the OP) than A&M fans. Baylore has their foot on UTw's throat and beats them year in year out. Baylor and A&M don't play and barely compete for recruits, thus our level of concern is much lower.

What in the world makes you think that?

In fairness to the OP this feels like it's on the verge of going really big- people, even people who passionately love college football are starting to get sick of programs basically acting like less ethical versions of NFL franchises (not even Jerry Jones can control a police investigation in the way say Jimbo Fisher can).

But to the original point, I don't think Baylor takes a fall for this. Baylor Law is TRIAL LAWYER UNIVERSITY. The biggest bloodsucking parasites in TX are Baylor Lawyers. They'll rally around the flag on this.

This is the thing that makes me think Briles is lying his arse off, I can't think of another major coach with the exception of maybe Mark Richt who I would implicitly trust yo do the right thing basically every time on a moral issue-- Petersen is a throwback "do things the right way" guy.

I'm sure TCU and Texas aren't too annoyed.

Wait really, man I only lived in Texas briefly and spent summers there as a teenager but I thought Baylor was a bunch of uptight Baptists. Is it TCU that's the major school that's a bit religious?

A&M fans should hope Coach Briles gets fired from Baylor over this!

Honest answer.

I don't think Briles deserves to get fired, but Baylor has a history of taking a "win-first" approach across the board.

Britney Grinner -- She didn't play in the olympics because she is (and knows she is) genetically a man. Olympics committee tests, NCAA does not. Baylor knew, but still had what genetically amounts to a man playing a woman's sport and ignored the obvious...all for an unfair competitive advantage.

LaceDarius Dunn -- Dude broke his girlfriend's jaw. Still played. No action by the AD.

Carlton Eric Dotson, Jr. -- Murdered Patrick Dennehy. It took NCAA action for Baylor to get off it's collective arse and do something about it.

Baylor Baseball Player's Animal Cruelty -- There's more than one way to skin a cat. Just ask a Baylor baseball player. Players were not dismissed from the team.

The list goes on and on. Baylor is a win-at-all-costs organization, top to bottom.

I am not saying A&M doesn't have problems, but the most recent examples include Isaiah Golden and Darian Claiborne. Know why A&M's D was swiss cheese recently? We lost two 5-star starters because Sumlin dismissed them when charges were filed. It didn't take a full-blown trial, appeal, mistrial, second trial, second appeal, and supreme court certiorari to get A&M staff to take action.

As an aside, does it surprise anyone that Baylor is the target of an investigation? Pop Quiz: why Baylor? Why did TCU take a serious fall a few years ago?

Who stands to gain more by their failure? A&M or programs that share a conference with Baylor.
