A&M intends to hire Mike Elko from Duke, where he’s spent the past two seasons, after he was Fisher’s defensive boss from 2018-2021. The announcement from A&M athletic director Ross Bjork could come as soon as Sunday night or perhaps Monday.
…
Robinson, an ace recruiter, is expected to stay on with Elko on the defensive staff, perhaps as defensive coordinator. Elko is 16-9 over two seasons as Duke’s head coach.

Stoops was packing up his shite before A&M had a change of heart. Sorry, this hire will be embraced by the fanbase and boosters.

How much is his buyout? He just signed an extension in July.

aTm manages to stop short of full on Tennessee coach search territory, but it was a near run thing for a while.

Oh, OK. So if this is true, then the choice that the Fanbase wanted all along is the person who gets hired.
Just a little detour with Bjork and Stoops going rogue there for a minute.
