Thanks for this good, honest and informative answer. That's why I asked it here. I knew I would get a better answer than anywhere else on the web I searched.

RS Frosh Matt Davis. Matt has tremendous physical talent with a strong arm, great size, and excellent speed. He was very raw last year though and struggled to pick up the offense. In his defense with the QB competition that was going on and him coming in as a Fish that had no realistic shot against Manziel or Showers he didn't get a ton of reps. The guy is famous for his super positive attitude though and starting the "AggSwagg" movement in the '12 recruiting class to help land several top guys and change the perception about A&M.

Matt Davis is also the one responsible for one of the most iconic videos of A&M's inaugural SEC season--the Ags' first SEC March of Honor.

Not taking into account metropolitan area. Of course a city in the middle of nowhere will beat cities that are surrounded by several other large towns/cities if you only count within city limit

How else are you supposed to count a cities population if you don't stop at the city limits?

I have never seen people referring to large cities without referring to metropolitan population. There's a reason that number exists.

I don't dispute the number, but I sure don't call this:

"Atlanta", and that's where the > 5 million population comes from

That graph is misleading a bit, as it doesnt count the whole county on those outer ones. But if you wish, the URBAN population of Atlanta is 4.75 million.

Well, no. It ain't. The same list you're getting that from lumps Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington into the same "metro area". A Dallas resident would slap you if you said they lived in Fort Worth, and vice versa. The population of the city of Atlanta is around 430K. El Paso is bigger. There are no doubt more people living within 50 miles of Atlanta than within 50 miles of El Paso, but that isn't what the guy was claiming. The city of El Paso is bigger than the city of Atlanta. That's all.

That's generally reserved for refs and opposing coaches throwing a fit. The latter generally gets a solid "Sit down, bus driver!" instead. I've never heard of it being used on a player from either team.

Going to have to disagree with you. Metro is the best way to look at a city because that better defines what is available there. I also lived in Dallas and Fort Worth separately and though I agree they are different personalities they are still definitely the same metro and still very similar in the ways that matter. For instance there really is no "gap" in driving between East Dallas to West Fort Worth, it's just one giant suburban/urban city.

I like El Paso, it has some personality and is underrated. It's hard to compare it to any other city honestly because it is such a mix of Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. It is in no way comparable to Atlanta though other than some arbitrary measure of people that live within a city limit line. Atlanta has every convenience of a major US City. El Paso? Not so much. It's not even in the same time zone as most of Texas and it is still a long way from any cities the other direction.

Thought he'd go somewhere better

No shite. For a guy graduating.. that means he could transfer ANYWHERE that would take him and he would want to go to, meaning somewhere with a starting QB spot open. Showers looked pretty good when he got a chance to play, no telling what he'd be like getting starter reps.

As long as he doesn't act on the field like our thug transfers to Sam Houston did last year...

Personally I don't, though I've only been through there a couple of times. The only reason I chimed in was one Ag mentioned that El Paso was bigger than a lot of cities (including Atlanta) and that might surprise people, which got a lot of "No way" responses. But he was correct. That's not in any way to say I'd rather live in El Paso than Atlanta... actually I'd go nuts in either city but if those were my only options then Atlanta is the clear answer. This has really digressed way past reason, sorry... sort of.

Good luck to Showers.

Yes and yes. I'd guess at least 2 games worth of fricked.

I think we can all agree JM is a bit better than "any good".

I actually hope Mett plays like he did towards the end of the year for you. Except for Nov. 23. That would suck.
