Happy. Its the ultimate measuring stick in football/baseball.

My observation is Kevin Sumlin is going to win a natty at A&M. Deal with it.

I've felt for years that A&M was in the wrong conference. Always felt like an SEC school that kind of wandered off a little.

Year long party.
We did better than I was hoping in football
Basketball....no.
Baseball is the deepest of the three competition wise. This conference is just stacked top to bottom.
Wish we would have come to the SEC back when I was a student. Jealous of the games these students will be seeing at Kyle.

We did indeed Tbird. A year later and i am still amped about it just as the day it was announced!

I think we are DAMN lucky that all the events went down the way that it did and laid the groundwork for us to move....especially with nobody else attached.
If anyone is in Dallas for games and whatnot, first round on me gentleman. And that is for Ags and conference members.

This is just about football.I grew up hearing the names of SEC teams while A&M was in the SWC. When Big12 came, I just didn't feel playing those Big12 North teams was a conference game. ISU,KU,KSU,NU,CU all felt like out of conf. OSU and OU in the South got better but still felt strange. This first year, every SEC felt important and intense like a conference game should.
One thing I've noticed, and not just A&M games, SEC officiating is the worst I've seen. So many obvious blown calls and straight out ignoring of penalties.

The main SEC missed call is on the OL, and I've seen it go both for and against my team, so I'm not really complaining.
It was just shocking to see the holds and blocks in the back go unwhistled.

To be honest, I thought we'd do alittle better in football and baseball. Basketball was going to be our strongpoint but turned out that womens softball was pretty good too.
I'm eager to get another football season underway to see where we might stand with a healthy O-line.
Somewhat indifferent with TV coverage as I got most if not all the games while in the B12. All in all, glad Mizzou was invited to the SEC conference as it is the penical of college sports. Can't go anywhere but up now.

This. I wish basketball would have been better, but we still ended decent.

The thing about Mizzou is, I don't think Missouri is a state that will put up with being at the bottom of the barrel for long. That's what makes this conference. It's a state pride thing eventually. The state of Missouri vs the other states in the SEC.
It will be up to the tolerance level of Mizzou fans. It's ridiculous, but even Mississippi State fans expect to win at a high level, meaning SEC championships. Even they think their time will come. They may be delusional, but a demanding fanbase will at the very least maximize the programs potential.
You'll get there eventually.

Baseball is the biggest difference. Our team this year would be 2nd or 3rd in the B12. It's damn near last in the SEC. There's just not any easy weekend series to bust a slump and right your ship. Just relentless. So brutal.
What some of us have been saying for years.
Everyone thinks the SEC is brutal in football ... but, by far, it is more brutal in baseball. It can be pretty brutal in women's basketball too but A&M seems to fit-right-in in that regard, so far.

There are those who claim that is done purposefully, a conspiracy if you will, which makes the SEC all the more potent in the bowls when the calls are actually made.
To me it's just always seemed like some teams get the calls in that regard, and some teams do not.
Watch the SCAR at SC game in Athens this coming year if you want to witness some truly heinous line judge officiating. Happens ever time down there - they are notorious for it although I do not believe it is Georgia's fault ... it's the refs, but down there I don't know wtf gets into them that blinds them along the line.

Very true about the people from Missouri not wanting to be at the bottom for too long. I posted a link the other day showing Mizzou already have $40+ million in donations from 3 sources since last July. These were million dollar donations. Now imagine all the donations from $100-$999,999.
Mizzou is already about to spend over $200 mil to upgrade facilities, shite wouldnt happen if Mizzou stayed in the Big 12. Joining the SEC is making Mizzou want to better their facilities.

Football did worse than I expected. Basketball did MUCH worse than I expected. Baseball is doing better than I expected but I don't really care for college baseball.
All in all, I don't like the SEC so far. Losing is no fun and y'all are assholes.

TV coverage
TV coverage is absolutely amazing. I don't think I missed a Missouri game in Hawaii.
Conversely I never got to see Missouri play when I lived in North Carolina, (Big 12 timeframe) when Missouri was quite a bit better than they are now.
It's also nice playing a powerhouse nearly every weekend. Have seen it writen many times before, but every weekend in the SEC is like watching the best of the bowl games at the end of the year, if not better.

Excellent point. Baseball and W basketball are much more brutal top to bottom than football and as this is where media values will grow and mean even more money for the SEC. I know football pays the bills but the growth percentages for the secondary sports are higher.

Fans - more supportive of A&M than I initially thought they would be. I figured smart SEC fans would get it and then did immediately. Thought the bumpkins wouldn't...but even the bumpkins seemed to put their ignorance aside after a few months and realize A&M/Missouri made the SEC a bigger, national conference. The SEC did it right. The B1G, after adding Nebraska (brilliant) added 2 awful programs in states that just dont care and wont bring viewers. SEC - A. B1G - C.
Football - best of college football. I followed the SEC on TBS on saturday nights back when I was in school (late 80's). Huge passionate crowds and exciting play. Tradition and passion are the keys. I always thought the SWC and the Big XII were no where near as exciting (save for first 5 years of Big XII when Nebraska, OU, A&M and Texas were strong.) And I wanted to join the SEC at the end of the SWC. I was almost ready to give up on A&M if it bypassed the SEC and am so glad that our school leaders had the courage to make the move.
Basketball - not that strong of a conference and yet it doesn't get as much respect as it deserves. It is the exact opposite from football with a built in bias that its teams just aren't that good or exciting.
Baseball - greatest conference going. We have to up our game in a big way.

I'm glad to be in the SEC.
Football is about what i expected, don't think we lose the Vandy game is James completes the game and without Richardson we lost the Syc game, that would have sent us bowling so about what i expected.
Basketball was worst than I expected but still one of the few SEC teams that made it to the big dance.
Baseball is not a sport I follow in college but knowing MO love of PRO baseball I think the fans will start getting behind the team because we don't like to lose.
