Pretty sure there a ton of more important rivalries like
Florida-Georgia
Alabama-Auburn
Texas-OU
Ole Miss-Miss State
Auburn-Georgia
Alabama-Tennessee
LSU-Arky
LSU- Alabama
etc

all are better and more important rivalries..tbh I never knew you were rivals...

I don't know why so many LSU fans say or feel otherwise about a rivalry.
You have to have accomplished something to make a rivalry meaningful.

Agreed. Not in a malicious way but if you ask about formative impressions as a fan there will just be more powerful memories of games against better teams. Even when your team lost a lot of the games.

For me if was Spurrier's Florida juggernaut. He used to come in and just wipe his arse on the opponent. But having been there for the 97 game when LSU ended their unbeaten streak (coming off the 96 championship) there was no sports experience I've enjoyed more in person.

That's what you want. I'm sure games like the 07 Florida game against Meyer or the 19 game against Saban are similar memories for younger LSU fans

A&M is just another game for LSU fans, but I understand how it might mean more for the Aggies.

If I was listing LSU's traditional rivals in conference, A&M would probably be about midway down the list.

I’m personally ok with A&M being a “permanent” opponent.

Although the most odd, weird and delusional fanbase in the SEC, they have passion and are situated in a next door neighbor State we need to continue to have some focus on for recruiting.

So I’m good with it.

Hope it’s A&M, Ole Miss and Auburn/ or Florida personally.

I don’t need to see Bama anymore than every other year and I’ll be fine especially with no Saban.

I agree it's a good rivalry and think it will happen.

Ags should good:
Horns
LSU
Missou (or similar not too far away and decent but not great)

LSU:
Ags
Bama/Florida/Auburn
Ole Miss

100% agree. A&M is not a rival game for LSU

Perception is not reality. Did you know that, according to Google, there are only 3 SEC schools with longer drive times to Missouri than A&M (Texas, by 8 minutes, Florida, and South Carolina). Baton Rouge to Missouri is a shorter drive, as is Athens. Oxford is much closer to Columbia than most people would think. I'm not saying that any of these should be paired with Missouri, just pointing out that geography is no reason to pair A&M and Missouri.

I do think that the 3rd team in a lot of these pairings is going to seem rather random, so you can't rule out Missouri for A&M's 3rd. But, I suspect that the league will give Missouri the Razorbacks for geography, and the Sooners for history. Their 3rd team could be anyone.

Really? Texas and Arkansas are much better fits for you as permanent opponents.

Keep the permanent rivalry going. I've got real-life, long-time friends from both schools so, Im kind of biased but neutral since my alma mater is the newest member of the Pac-12. LSU has the best tail-gate experience in America next to my Saints, bar none & is a short trip down the hwy.

LSU shitting the bed in college station every other year makes for a good series

Sorry to disagree with you. I have a number of family members who are LoSerU grads who want to be permanents with A&M. I have one SIL who got his BS at LSU and his Masters at A&M.

I think it has turned into a good series and look forward to it continuing.

I am not a fan of this 3 permanent opponents structure. I think in the end, every team is going to end up with one or two true rival opponents and third that is thrown in for scheduling or location convenience. Some will play true rivals in their OOC games as well.

Anyone who comes on this forum and thinks he speaks for an entire fan base either has a self-awareness problem, a troll and/or is completely full of shite. They pretty much lose all credibility when they make a statement like that.

A&M matchups should include:

tu
LSU
Arky

No other SEC school is a historical rival

They have managed to defend their home turf three times in a row? Or is it four?

Congrats.

there's (at least) two other SEC teams above Arky on LSU's list.

LSU's perms are gonna be: Aggies, OMiss, and Oklahoma. Geography plus needing OU-LSU that last weekend make the determination.
