How on earth did you book a room during that weekend? I assumed they were long gone and the prices astronomical.

I know this is a LAME suggestion (all my fellow Ags will downvote me) ... but grab a bite to eat at the Dixie Chicken. Their burgers are fan-freakin-tastic, and it's an easy walk just across from campus. Casual and a good time.

Nah, get your burger at Chicken Oil Co. Easier to get in an out of, short drive from campus, pretty much the exact same food as the Chicken (owned by the same people) and no lame 30-40 year old dudes desperately trying to relive their college glory days bragging (aka lying) about how they didn't gag or spill when they chugged an entire pitcher of beer for their ring dunk.

The George looks fantastic. If he's bringing his wife, then I agree. But if we're trying to sell his kid on A&M, I think on-campus wins.

I agree, their burger is better. But it's all bar burgers. Similar style places too.
Did you ever make it out to Bryan when they had an upscale Koppe Bridge called River Bridge? I don't think it lasted long. Might have been before your time.
