Austin smells like hobo shite, and you have to be careful where you step in downtown.

“That part of Texas” is covered in indigenous oaks, crape myrtles, cedars, redbuds, elms, Mountain-Laurels etc.

Sometimes I wish we had fewer trees and more succulents, similar to the Hill Country.

Austin was a nice town 30 years ago. Now it's just another large liberal hellhole. Bums and trash everywhere you look.

Bro...Google Earth Brazos County and tell me again how it's "covered" with these species. All I'm saying is that the way College Station looks now, a few more trees will go a long way to make it seem more inviting.

I took no offense at all; I just disagree.
It’s acorn and squirrel hell during the fall.

Any plans to enlarge the swimming pool from 49.97 meters to 50.00 meters?

You know how I can tell Daniel the fake Aggie never attended A&M...

That aside, the planned improvements look nice.

It's basically just west campus and a few of the buildings on the north side... and a few dorms... and Rudder tower.

But the really old and really new buildings look great. Nothing alike, but still great.

Planning a college visit later this summer so I'll see in person. Have a rec for good place to eat near campus? Haven't booked a room yet, so not sure where we are staying.

Lupe Tortilla is good and is just across the street from campus to the East.

Laynes chicken is great and the inventors of the sauce that Cane's now peddles.

If looking high end, The Republic is a great steakhouse about a mile from campus on University.

Stay on campus. Deals can be had during the summer.

You can swim in the pool in the shadow of Kyle Field.

Foods recs?
Burger - Dixie Chicken at Northgate (nothing special, but its kind of our "famous" joint)
Sandwich, Soup, Pizza - Blue Baker
Fine Dining - The Republic or Christopher's
BBQ - 1775 Texas Pit BBQ (small drive out of town)
Bars - Northgate... any of them. There are ~22 all next to each other.

Thanks, not going until end of July so I'm sure campus will be dead other than the group taking the tour, etc.

Staying here for the Bama game. That pool looks fun.

Looking forward to my first visit to College Station. Both teams take care of business early and it should be Game Day + 7pm kickoff
