All time best SEC Baseball program? That is a tough one when you try to rank an overall program because you never know how much weight to give recent history over not so recent history. If a team wins 10 SEC championships and another wins zero but has a magical season and wins a natty I don’t think they necessarily have a better program. Georgia and Mizzou are way below MSU in the SEC pecking order.
I would say MSU is probably second to LSU only because of LSU’s insane run over the last 30 years. Otherwise they may be at the top. Not saying they are historically better that South Carolina, only as it relates to the conference. MSU is the father of modern SEC baseball imo.

Interesting fact, Florida has the most SEC wins all time. It is probably the only sport that we are not a Johnny come lately. Well that and golf.

Hey, scrooster...I lived in the ATL area for 30 years and attended at least 1 game of every Carolina-LSU series played in Columbia from the 1990s through 2013. Most series I attended 2 games. Same for UF and UGA and Tenn and Aub and Bama and Vandy. Since I retired, I have been to State, OM, and Arkie.

My ranking is my opinion and it is based on firsthand attendance at games. I have no idea why you chose to call me so many absurd names. That proves you don't know me.

If Baum or Swayze didn't seem as raucous to you, it might have been because Ark and OMiss were playing Carolina and not LSU. The Ark-LSU and OM-LSU games I have seen at those venues were much louder and more intense than the ones I saw in Columbia.

My original post was meant to suggest that there were 5 programs that seem bigtime to me in terms of attendance and local interest and I listed them as 1-5.

Maybe not the best time to make this claim. We're in the national championship. And unlike state, we've actually won a national championship before.

I never said anything about that. I was specifically addressing the part about Ron Polk being the father of SEC baseball and you saying some stupid shite about what USC did before being in the SEC.

Maybe you should learn how quotes and context work, cock...

OK, let me see if I can dumb this down for you.

Another LSU poster posted about MSU being next to only LSU in the SEC to take baseball seriously.

South Carolina was playing for a national championship a year before the so-called "Father of SEC Baseball" even coached his first game in the SEC, and the same year that LSU appeared in their very first NCAA tournament. That was two years after we appeared in our first.

So really, being in the SEC or being in ANY conference has nothing to do with it, when GeorgeWest said this:

Starkville is the only place in the SEC where folks take their baseball as seriously as we do in BR.

South Carolina is now in the SEC, so that includes us, whether you refuse - or am unable - to interpret context or not. USC fans have taken their baseball as if not more seriously than either of you. We've been able to discuss such topics as playing for national titles, for one thing, among ourselves before either of your fan-bases were able to....

South Carolina won it twice, Coastal Carolina won it once, Clemson has been to multiple CWS. After LSU, who else in LA? After Ole Miss and MSU, who else in the Delta? And really, do Ole Miss and MSU even do it?

I’m a state fan, and that’s fake news.
LSU is far ahead. And until we win a natty, we’re behind the others.
