Well a hurricane isn't moving through tomorrow night, for starters.

The forecast is horrific. It’s literally a tropical storm almost directly over Tuscaloosa at 1pm Bama fans should be absolutely pissed about this. They are fricking over your entire area and fanbase with this People that say “at game time the weather will be great” are people you don’t ever want running anything Not taking into account the massive power outages, roads, and downed trees in the area “Only a tropical storm” is the dumbest shite I have heard.

Good lord what a load of crap!!

He has been fear mongering all day freaking out that the game won't be canceled. Very strange.

Can't speak for them, but I live in the Tampa area and have been through many tropical storms. I"n 2024 had 3 hurricanes come through the area, although I was lucky to only get tropical storm and maybe some cat 1 wins.

Didn't even lose power. I've been through others as well, never lost power. I've had a generator that is 6 years old and I've never actually used it despite many tropical storms.

There was flooding, some people in more remote areas lost power for a few days. Overall, not that big of a deal except for houses below the surge on the coast. My neighbors canopy ended up in my back yard.

Surge is a big deal, but Tuscaloosa isn't getting that. I keep track of that to know if I need to evacuate or not.

What you describe sounds like a Cat 5 hurricane coming directly head on.

No

And I promise you that you were not actually “in the path” of hurricanes the way you speak of them

A tropical storm for those actually in the path isn’t a fun or innocuous thing.

Same with a category 1

It made landfall in Destin. This has moved so far east and moving faster than predicted, Tuscaloosa may get a light sprinkle and a gust of wind that may or may not blow your hat off.

Correct, all I got was the tropical storm around it. The actual path is much more narrow than the clouds and slower winds of the outside.

But I've also had tropical storms go over pretty close. Also not bad.

Now take a look at how far inland Tuscaloosa is and how weak it will be when it gets there.

I understand exactly how far inland it is

This storm is expected to have 50+ MPH winds (aka tropical storm) almost into Tennessee

The S stands for tropical storm, see how far inland that is? It’s basically on top of Tuscaloosa

Shreveport la, which is damn near as far inland as Tuscaloosa saw actual hurricane winds a few years ago

Straight line storms have higher winds and worse conditions.

I'm more interested in grill cheese than abnormal events that have nothing to do with the topic.

In case you didn't know, many parts of Alabama have been in a severe drought for the last month or so. I mean dry, dry as dust, or a desert, or even sandpaper.

The sky water is going to be absorbed immediately, no matter if like 20 inches of it falls within an hour. This weather phenomenon, called a dry gulch backflash, will actually send out ultrasonic waves that will counteract and disrupt the hurricane's winds.

Due to this set of circumstances, the forecast for the game tomorrow night is balmy breezes with refreshing overtones of honeysuckles.
