Except many of them actually are (look up the term "simultaneous membership program").
Here's how you tell. Look at the right shoulder patch. If it's anything but a white patch with TAMU maroon lettering, that individual is ROTC. If there is a badge above the awards on the left breast pocket, that individual has signed a contract to commission. If there are actual military awards on either side, that individual is either Guard/Reserve or prior service.
