HOW will this work? You're either going to have to repeat a 4H/5A & 5H/4A format to change opponents every year...
OR repeat opponents & rotate the 4H/5A & 5H/4A format.

However they do it they better have it setup where its always home and then away etc. for those 12 teams in addition to the 3 permanent games.

Anything is likely better than Georgia never playing a game at A&M in the last decade.

There are a few schools that have neutral-site games (WLOCP and RRS come to mind). The remaining schools would have an issue securing enough attendance for a neutral site game, even if there’s large enough stadia within a shorter distance. My guess is that for those schools that don’t have neutral sites readily available, it’ll be 5H/4A one year, then 4H/5A the next (alternating each year) - similar to how the NFL allocates home/away with a 17-game season.

ETA: the 5th game - in theory - would be against a school outside of the 3 rivals.

Get each team to play one of its permanent rivalry games at a neutral site every year.

Some already do this.

I'm sure the SEC has some nerds with computer models that have already figured all of this out.

Assuming we are keeping divisions, the only way to do this equitably would be for teams in the respective divisions play the same number of conference home games and of course alternate years.

That situation wasn't done by Georgia.

However, it does make you wonder if that's still set for next year.

That makes sense...but to keep divisions, you would have 7 teams you play every year (the format we have now with 6 teams).

I can follow the 3H/3A for rotating teams...but harder to figure out the 2H/1A bit. Hince the question of are you rotating the H/A yearly or the teams?

It isn't a problem.

It will lead to the annual "scheduling aint fair" from Auburn fans as they try to desperately change and manipulate the schedule but make things harder on themselves in the process.

How can that be looked at as a problem?

Other conferences have played 9-game formats. Everyone lived. For some reason, to you, this is like creating nuclear fusion in a lab.

Just now figuring our the math that any 3rd grader would know? It could be solved with a neutral site game for every team like the WLOCP....

If you don't have a neutral site game (meaning if you're not UGA or UF), then you'll have four home games one year and five the next. That's just the breaks.

I'm sure there will be some complaints in years where, not only does a team get only 4 home games, but also, they end up with an unusually tough draw. Just to give you an example, if A&M ends up with LSU, Texas, and State as its 3 permanent opponents (as rumored), I certainly hope that we don't end up playing LSU and Texas on the road the same year, and I really wouldn't like that if that happened to be one of the years where we only have four home games. You can expect those kind of complaints, no matter what happens, because it will be impossible to make everyone happy.

Pretty easy.

With OU and Texas added, there are 16 teams.
You'll have 3 teams you play every year and 6 teams you play twice in a 4-year stretch. It will kind of look like this

Perm 1 home/away/home/away
Perm 2 away/home/away/home
Perm 3 home/away/home/awary
other 1 away/home other 2 away/home
other 3 home/away other 4 home/away
other 5 away other 6 home/away other 5 home
other 7 home other 8 away/home other 7 away
other 9 away other 10 home/away other 9 home
other 11 home/away other 12 home/away

I never said it was.

What I AM saying is you're going to have to repeat the # H/A games OR conf. opponents in consecutive years. Alternating both results in the same location for the same teams.

Good, so like a 3rd grader, try getting ALL 14 other teams to do a neutral site game.

And OU/TX.

Technically that's a neutral site game too right? At the TX state fair?

I got that.
I'm saying you CAN'T rotate the 4/5 & teams each year or else the same locations occur.

ex.
Y1 4H/5A rotating group A
Y2 5H/4A rotating group B
Y3 4H/5A rotating group A
Y4 5H/4A rotating group B
Y5 4H/5A rotating group A
Y6 5H/4A rotating group B
