8th Maxim for Tennessee Football

8. Could we please find some way to finally beat these SOBs from Missouri?
Seriously UT fans, I know these maxims were created by Neyland back in the day, but to have your football team repeat things like "The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win!" in unison minutes before kickoff is cheesy and anticlimactic. Why put a message in your teams' head of what NOT to do right before you play? Might as well tell them "Don't screw up!"

I wish someone from Tennessee would answer my question regarding these maxims. What is the point in chanting them pregame?
It's like saying to yourself "I will not get into a car accident!" every time you get behind the wheel.....and then plowing into the 1st Semi you see out on the highway. It doesn't work Butch. Try some different schtick.
