I’ve not seen this potential format trial-ballooned so I’ll give it a shot. Start the year with 3 non conference games; 4 conference games mixed in with a bye; 3 conference games with a random pool draw; last two weeks of November are first two rounds of playoff; SEC Championship first week of December; whoever is not a part of the playoff gets to play consolation games the last two weeks of the season.

Who gets in? Four teams who win their pool, plus first four teams in winning %.

F*** your rivalries - this format would be far better tv than the Iron Bowl or Michigan-Ohio State.

This sounds needlessly complicated.

Most things sound complicated to a tide fan.

Thank God OP didn’t outline how to tie a shoe… you’d have really been befuddled.

This is the stupidest thing I have read in a while. Half the conference playing for the championship? Hell add one more week of games and all 16 (eventually) teams can play for the championship. You must be a big fan of the "everyone gets a trophy" mindset.

8 teams.
No automatic qualifiers and no committee. Use the old BCS to pick the top 8.

I didn't think anyone could hate Alabama and Alabama fans as much as some LSU fans do, but a lot of Texas A&M fans have proven me wrong. Now you get your undies in a wad over an Alabama fan merely speaking on a subject that isn't about Texas A&M.

I'm sorry Saban hurt you so badly. Well, not really.

With all the opt outs, why would they want to do a consolation SEC game.

Naw. Just rotate an 8 game schedule with 4 permanent rivals. It keeps it balanced.

So under this plan Aggie could forfeit their way to the CCG

1 - WHY are you having a playoff for the winner to go to another playoff?
2 - 1/2 the conference makes the SECPO?
3 - The 4 SEC East teams with in-state ACC rivals have their game the last week of the season (I'm sure others do too).

This is beyond dumb. If Sankey says the Hell with everybody else and goes with an all SEC post season, is this going to affect other sports? The rest of the conferences will say fine, enjoy your own basketball, swimming, volleyball all SEC tournaments too.
