That's about as close to "mad online" as someone can get when you're talking to fans of schools who had nothing to do with the game. IIRC there were a couple of "subjective" PI calls granted at the end of the game and in OT that certainly favored aTm... I don't personally care about the outcome, but it's not exactly "edgy" to say that aTm benefitted from officiating in the game... And I'm someone who gave LSU fans shite for bitching about it in the moment... I don't think that the "only reason aTm won was the officials" or anything... but you benefitted from what seemed like more close calls going your way, at least late in the game when they have more weight. I also was watching as a passive observer, so who knows if I'd have felt different as a fan of either program?

I completely understand how it all looked. The chances of getting out of that situation are very slim. That's why it looks so one-sided.

The only really close call that went our way was the Sternburger catch/drop/fumble/whatever.

Did he take two steps? Make a football move? Would LSU fans be bitching the other way if it had happened in the end zone?

The PI on Greedy should have been called as defensive holding. See gif:

Which did not change the game, because A&M still failed to convert the 2.

Other than that, all other calls were legit:

74-72 was just bad football

I actually disagree with this for probably about 80% of regulation LSU pretty much had it under control and built up a lead. During that part it wasn’t bad football IMO. When it fell apart is when Giles (literally butter hands) muffed the kick which caused A&M to get a possession basically inside the redzone in order to bring it to a close game. If Giles fields that punt cleanly the time was at like 5 minutes and I severely doubt A&M would have done it Doesn’t matter now though. I just think the observation that it was bad football is slightly inaccurate.

Kick 6 was still way better though

That’s isn’t defensive holding. That is literally just a receiver and a DB hand checking each other (which happens on every play) while the ball sails out of bounds completely uncatchable.

IMO the Sternberger one was a fumble because he caught and then turned down field, which I consider to be a football field. The way I kind of view it is “Was the guy going to easily have possession if the hit didn’t happen?” If yes, Fumble.

Auburn beating the dogshit out of Mississipi St , 3 to 2. The prototypical SEC puntfest.

Kick 6. Watching two teams trade 25-yard scoring drives is boring AF. The game really wasn’t that good until overtime.

And there was more on the line for Kick 6.

That's false. There was an uncalled PI on the second to last drive that benefitted LSU. And there was a PI call in the last OT that, if it hadn't been called, would have extended the game.

A&M held the lead for pretty much all game, until the 4th. In fact, LSU never had a lead until the 4th quarter, thanks to a fumble that was BARELY a fumble. Otherwise, A&M was getting ready to score an extend their lead.

It's amazing how some of you can rewrite history in your mind.

(LSU took its first lead of the game with 6:41 left in the game.)

you're considering that sham of a game that made a mockery out of officiating one of the most exciting? "the unlimited do-over game."

um, kick 6 by a mile

You do realize SabanBear is available right?

Methinks you misspelled Saban.

Well well he’s a special one. But it’s still a thing. Not sure why people think it’s funny

Sorry my punctuation messed me up. What I meant wasn’t that LSU had control and was building a lead. What I meant was that starting in like the second quarter it felt like LSU had control, and then at the end they built a lead

Sure the PI if it wasn’t called in OT would have extended the game. But it would have moved us to an 8th OT with y’all starting from the 25, not giving y’all a second chance at a 2pt conversion which ended up being from 2 yards out because the ref started bleeding when Greedy looked at him funny (justified since the ball was uncatchable and like 8 feet out of bounds)

The 74-72 game was unwatchable at the end. All I could think about was beating the frick out of those LSU band nerds making that god awful noise over and over.

Lol I didn’t have the volume on very loud so I must have missed it. I was probably screaming at the television anyway
