I was at both and they were both epic.

Kick 6 is probably the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in sports. Still can’t believe that happened

Aubies are acting like little bitches for some reason. Must be a tiger school thing

You didn’t attend or graduate from LSU. Haha

That’s isn’t defensive holding. That is literally just a receiver and a DB hand checking each other (which happens on every play) while the ball sails out of bounds completely uncatchable.
It was more than just a hand check. Greedy was grabbing Kendrick's arm, keeping Kendrick from turning on his route before the ball was thrown. Defensive holding. Don't matter where the ball flies.
The Rule
ARTICLE 4. Holding and Use of Hands or Arms: Defense
***
d. Defensive players may not use hands and arms to tackle, hold or otherwise illegally obstruct an opponent other than a ball carrier or simulated ball carrier.
e. Defensive players may ward off or legally block an eligible pass receiver until that player occupies the same yard line as the defender or until the opponent could not possibly block him. Continuous contact is illegal. (A.R. 9-3-5:I)
NFL demostration
quote:
IMO the Sternberger one was a fumble because he caught and then turned down field, which I consider to be a football field. The way I kind of view it is “Was the guy going to easily have possession if the hit didn’t happen?” If yes, Fumble.
Yeah, that's not the rule.
The Rule
ARTICLE 3. Catch, Interception, Recovery
To catch a ball means that a player:
a. 1. Secures control of a live ball in flight with his hands or arms before the ball touches the ground, and
2. Touches the ground in bounds with any part of his body,
and then
3. Maintains control of the ball long enough to enable him to perform an act common to the game, i.e. long enough to pitch or hand the ball, advance it, avoid or ward off an opponent, etc., and
4. Satisfies paragraphs b, c and d below.
b. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain complete and continuous control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or in the end zone. This is also required for a player attempting to make a catch at the sideline and going to the ground out of bounds. If he loses control of the ball which then touches the ground before he regains control, it is not a catch. If he regains control inbounds prior to the ball touching the ground, it is a catch.
c. If the player loses control of the ball while simultaneously touching the ground with any part of his body, or if there is doubt that the acts were simultaneous, it is not a catch. If a player has control of the ball, a slight movement of the ball, even if it touches the ground, will not be considered loss of possession; he must lose control of the ball in order for there to be a loss of possession.
If the ball touches the ground after the player secures control and continues to maintain control, and the elements above are satisfied, it is a catch.
***
h. When in question, the catch, recovery or interception is not completed.
That one gets you right there.
But, I will admit that it was a close call and could have gone either way. When in doubt...not a catch.

I actually disagree with this for probably about 80% of regulation LSU pretty much had it under control and built up a lead.
LSU didn't even lead for a full quarter of regulation.
1st - A&M scores, LSU ties 7
2nd - A&M scores, 14-7, A&M GF, 17-7
3rd - LSU scores, tied at 17, A&M scores, 24-17 A&M
4th - LSU scores, tied at 24, LSU with 6:41 left FINALLY takes the lead
Maybe this is why LSU fans think they should have won. They didn't bother to watch the damn game.

74-72 shouldn't even be considered in the conversation for most exciting SEC game of all time. Hell, LSU alone has played at least three games that were more exciting than that one.
Oh, and laughing at all the Aggies who think that 74-72 is the greatest game. It isn't even the greatest game since the expansion.

The Clemson game was better for us.

The 74-72 game has a big old asterisk after it.

This. Anyone with a brain recognizes how badly the refs fricked it up. It’s why we barely dropped in the polls.

As an LSU fan, I was tired and close to apathetic by the end of the 74-72 game.
Kick 6 is the greatest SEC game and craziest finish I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. Followed closely by Byes back of the EZ TD vs auburn. Admittedly biased though. But that game was also a wild one.

It's true, I spelled Saban wrong. My bad. Never was a good speller.
-
But, 74-72 was the most exciting SEC game ever.

Kick Six for me hands down.

Exciting? How about the most poorly officiated game? That’s a better way to describe it
