You heard something totally different than I did. She blatantly said she has been given full autonomy in the hiring of the football HC.

She actually said she believed she had full authority to conduct the search and the chancellor has to approve the hire before it can be finalized.

That is the way at any University. Foley had to get the approval of the Chancellor at UF.
She said she was leading the search and there would be no committee. She would bounce things off of some people, but this is her decision to make. That is an awful lot of power for an interim AD.

She's been given full autonomy to begin a search that almost undoubtedly will not produce results until well after she has been replaced. Any idiot knows that the new AD, or even the chancellor doesn't have full autonomy to name the new coach. That would never happen, anywhere that it would matter.
