Fired as a head coach twice (once in high school for ending several winning streaks at Allen High School), gotten two head coaches fired (Gus and Jeff Scott), and been part of one of the worst losses in a decade for Clemson.

Wasn’t he a successful high school coach and Clemson OC? What happened to him? Why did he fail so badly at Arkansas? Did he become stuck in his offensive system and never adapt?

To me his biggest mistake was slimming the oline down to a 280lb average to be more mobile in his offense. Kiss of death right there.
And it seemed he played 2 or 3 qbs every game because they all sucked. I really can’t think of anything positive about his offense at all, ever.
He ran a d2 program in a d1 world. High school crap indeed…

The first thing he did, besides pissing off players and running them off, was buy a huge house and a corvette. His family never moved here and he flew home every Friday night to watch his son play. Come to think of it, that dude was a huge piece of crap.
