The thing with this is, even if you contend that it wasn't a flagrant (which it was) or that Pressey exaggerated it (which he did), there is NO excuse for not at least taking a quick look at the monitor to review it. Very telling that the refs wouldn't even look at the monitor.
Not trying to sound biased myself, I can't blame Pressey for flopping (really it was just rolling) around on the floor. I could hear him hit the court on TV. He hit hard. Guaranteed that one hurt.

Thats pretty lopsided.
I'm pretty sure we shot all our free throws within the last two minutes of each half and all the fouls were called within the last four of each half.
The game was close then they got to the bonus, then the double bonus, then it was obvious we weren't going to win.
Should of waited until after the Michigan game to announce the CBB hire.

Presseys actions were so ridiculous on that play I wouldn't be surprised if his acting actually cost him the intentional foul.

They don't usually call intentional fouls when teams are trying to stop the clock. The UCLA player didn't make a play on the ball but that really isn't uncommon in late game scenarios. Really the only reason that play stood out is because of presseys actions.

Watched it live and in several replays....UCLA player hooked him around waist and spun him. Flagrant foul...possible exaggeration by Pressey, was time spent on floor. On other hand, pretty sure it was a enough to knock the wind out of him.

What the ????? Are you shitin me? Really? I guess Pressey has been practicing that triple axel move just for that occasion hugh?
The guy grabbed him around the waist and yanked his arm and it was more a toss to the floor but it's still a flagrant foul. He wasn't going for the ball. He was going to foul Pressey intentionally....which he did. But it didn't require tossing a player to the floor.

In all seriousness, Pressey definitely exaggerated a little bit on that play. However, that does not change the fact that it was a flagrant foul and should have been called as such.

That play stood out because Pressey caught UCLA napping and as he was blowing by the defender, he did get thrown to the floor. No doubt Pressey played it up on the floor, but also no doubt he was aided in getting to the floor.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Pressey tied a SEC Record with 19 assists.

Not sure who said it above but they were spot on when they said the real problem with the officiating showed itself when they refused to go to the monitors on that play.

Yep, was a pretty special game for him. He now just needs to learn to become a leader on this team, not just all flash.

So I guess in your opinion, the only way a flagrant foul should or would have been called on that play is if the guy would have tackled or body checked Pressey into the third or fourth row then get him into a full nelson and pile driven him back onto the court...... with a drop elbow to the fourhead for good measure......

I just went and watched the replay again. The UCLA defender grabbed him and that was it. The twisting in air and flailing to the floor was all acting.

In Mizzou, that is called 10/10 times.
On the road, maybe 2/10 times.
Just how CBB is called now.

I know, I've been over it for about 5 mintues now. I'm just having fun being a smartass.

That wasn't really that funny the first time you posted it.

While that is great for Pressey, stats are trumped by the scoreboard. Even with refs favoring the home team, Mizzou beat themselves in this game. But will give UCLA credit due.

I am over the game at this point, and I just finished watching it 30 mins ago. We didnt help ourselves out much at all coaching or the players, but we were also jobbed quite a bit. But I am optimistic after this game. Especially going into conference play, where we should just clean up. Get our knock in now and use it to fuel us later.
By the way I left a Ben Bradley update in the recruiting thread. Just from what I was able to scrounge up.
