He said that if it didn’t change, Bama was going to start doing it. He warned everybody.

quote:

We didn’t buy one player. But I don’t know if we’re going to be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it

quote:

Call it what you will, a plea or a warning, but the Alabama coach signaled that he's getting ready to make another pivot work to the Crimson Tide's advantage.

Saban - calls something out and says Bama is going to do it unless rules change.
tRant - Saban is just scared. He can’t compete with NIL and Bama is screwed now that everyone else is paying players, etc.

Saban - does exactly what he warned and signs a tremendous class
tRant - that dirty hypocrite.

Saban, yes. Bama, no.

Saban is a narcissist. He is a liar, a user, a fricking snake. He's a great coach, yes - but I hate him more than any coach in the history of the game. He's a bad person, a hypocrite, a pretender.

You've got a real problem with this. Do some self-inventory, and try to figure out why your feelings are so extreme..you'll probably feel better.

Bama is 100% buying this class, or doing the same thing TexAM did last year.

It’s fine, but there is no difference.

For the 10th time…

Saban: Is this what we want football to be?

Everybody: Yes.

Saban: Okay.

I have no problem with him doing what others are doing. I’m just not sure the Full NIL press is the best way. USC had good results with NIL and portal; TexAM not so much.

Alabama went full portal last spring and still ended up with duds at receiver.

It’s still a roll of the dice.. are you getting hard working guys who are just looking for the best deal or pre-Madonnas?

It’s really a crap shoot.

This could pay off in titles or it could be Sabans last hurrah.

It seems to me Bama is panicked.

Basically. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Saban did what he had to do, can’t fault him. LSU has a helluva class as does Alabama, just didn’t take this one from Nick’s arse.

You guys have no clue what has been unleashed, there are no rules now zero, if Texas, Oregon (Nike), USC etc decide to spend 150-200 million on a class, and they all can with a single alum so be it. Bama LSU abs Georgia together can do 200 million for one year. Get ready for 7 million (to 10 million dollar men for real

Don't blame him at all. He's playing by the rules that have been set forth.

However....it does make him hypocritical. He cried to anyone who would listen and now he's doing the very same things he was crying about.

I like him but honestly...he should have stuck to his guns and recruited the way he thinks it should be and then beat everyone's arse on the field to show them it doesn't matter how many players you "buy." Good coaching always will win out in the long run. See A&M for reference. You can't put them all on the field at the same time. Someone will always get butthurt and wind up transferring.

He just caved and is using that as an excuse...that's what makes him a hypocrite. And I've lost respect for him.

Saban complains often about things he sees as changing the CFB game, and he's batting 1000% on his opinions.

In every major year of adjustment he's behind the game because he's a process oriented mindset.

However,he's driven and refuses to be left behind. I wish his in game adjustments were as dominant as his operational to strategic view of adjusting the organization.

The man is a brilliant strategic mind.
