Only becuase they dont' have any games that I would say are ABSOLUTE MUST protects by any means necessary. Take Kentucky/UT for example. Long standing rivalry, cool trophy/barrel, some good history. I would personally like to see this rivalry rmeain and wouldn't be shocked if it does, btu it isn't a tier 1 must.

Same with arkansas. There's a handful of teams like LSU, Texas, etc. that I'd love to see arkansas play yearly but if they don't it's nto really the end of the world.

Kentucky Tennessee is the 2nd oldest rivalry in the conference behind Georgia Auburn.

Terrible take. You've shown more deference for teams that aren't even in our conference yet plus the two rookies. Shameful display.

Kentucky is 3-35 against Tennessee since 1985. Does Kentucky really want Tennessee as a permanent game?

If Texas isn’t one of our permanent rivalry games, we will definitely burn this place to the ground.

I hope the Arkansas faithful get the Texas game back. I don't care if LSU and Arkansas goes away. Would like the Ole Miss, Aggie game to be 2 of our permanents and keep Miss. State (3 Closest campuses to LSU). I can also see an argument to keep the LSU and Florida game, if not the MSU game.

I would think Arkansas would get Texas, Keep Mizzou (campuses are relatively close to each other) and add maybe Aggie (another Texas game for Arky recruiting) or OU or Ole Miss

To me the lock games are:

Bama vs Tenn
Bama vs AU
UGA vs UF
UGA vs AU
Tenn vs Vandy
OM vs MSU
Texas vs OU
Texas vs A&M
Maybe LSU vs OM

Others might be really desired, but the above are required yearly games.

2+6 or 3+5 are the only ones that should be considered.

All conference games come out to .500, and you will just make the conferences overall win% lower by a minimum of 4.2% That's with the SEC winning every single out of conference game.

The bulk of that will be absorbed by the lower level schools, and they will be bowl eligible less often.

It also takes away a home game for the schools every other year.

And the upside is? Nothing.

Better games, more revenue, fewer losses to other conferences.

Increased tv revenue is the big upside. Plus better games for fans.

The winning percentage issue is meaningless with the expanded playoff.

You’re effectively arguing for more cupcake games. Few fans of the game want that, even if it were to help the conference.

Yes. They're our most hated rival in the conference. Pipe down yankee.

You mean the yankee who put the exact three teams you said Kentucky wanted in my proposed permanent rivals before you posted that?

Some years ago I would have agreed.

The last 15 years or so of Alabama/LSU games have given us more great games than any other.

If I only can keep LSU or the stinking Vols. It’s an easy call for me these days. The last being a great example.
