It was a dud of an ending because the refs didn’t make the call.

This is my gripe, too. But also why the whole “conspiracy” crowd logic is so goofy, because it’s actually better entertainment value for the game to be tied and go to OT, or for Bama to score a TD there and then have enough time left to also give UGA an opportunity in the last few minutes to march down and respond if anything.

I don't believe in any conspiracy about it, but I have to point out that it likely benefited Vegas who started the line at Georgia -1.5.

All the bets at that point and so forth that made the line move just lost.

Is there the slightest bit of evidence that Alabama would have made a stop on third and short without Lee's penalty?

Didn’t your guy hit our guy first?

I understand the saying “2nd guy gets caught.”

It’s been a dumb boomer saying since day one. It is completely senseless to throw a flag on the 2nd guy in what’s a changed up sport and is an egregiously way to do it.

Didn’t Alabama make stops consistently throughout the night?

Georgia was 7/13 on third down

7/13 isn't what I'd call consistently. And it was what, 3rd and 2? Yeah I doubt it.

On the next play, 3rd and 10, the one thing your QB can't do is take a sack and push you out of FG range.

The obvious pass interference penalty would have put the ball on the 19 yard line. A sack from there and we are still in field goal range. Your whole post is a bunch of whataboutism. Did you forget what happened to you on 2nd and 26 after a sack?

UGA and Alabama had 121 chances in the game to make a play. Both teams failed to do so on the majority of those 121 opportunities. Neither team won or lost because of one play. UGA won because they were more physical and deeper with adequate talent. I would have bet money if UGA was going to win the game Stockton would have to have around 300 yards passing. UGA averaged 8.3 yards per play. Alabama averaged 5.92. Over a span or 121 plays UGA averaged 2.3 yards a play more....that's why UGA won and Alabama lost....UGA was better offensively and better defensively. Over a span of 121 opportunities to make a play UGA was almost 3 yards per play on both sides of the ball than Alabama. Claiming one play was the difference is what losers do. It happens. It'll happen next Saturday. Officials make shitty calls. It is as much a part of college football as the fricking football itself.

Man up and deal with the fact the only reason you won is because the referees didn't call two obvious face masks, and the targeting from the same safety who shouldn't have been in the game to do the pass interference.

Everyone in the college football world is talking about that. That is why Alabama didn't drop in the rankings.

It's why you bulldikes keep making threads begging people to believe.

If the flag is thrown, we have first and 10 on the UGA 20 with 3 and change on the clock.

Or a face mask flag on the sack vs Russell.

But, neither were thrown, and, hopefully, a lesson was learned on playcalling and play at a high stakes moments that may come in handy down the road.

100+ things coulda, woulda, shoulda happened both ways to change the outcome in several ways.

Game was played and things happened. Everything is still in front of both teams and would be had the results been reversed.

In all of my years watching Alabama football, I can think of one game that the calls were so one-sided that it severely hurt Bama's ability to compete. And, Bama is playing in that stadium vs that team next.

I hope the Bama team and staff aren't dwelling on "fatal flaws" and bad calls. Or, one loss can become two.

Ls bring lessons and can create focus and drive. I hope that is the case here, and Bama smashes the pumpkins this weekend.

frick UTk!!!

Or even better- SECCG AND playoffs. We could play each other 3 times this year.

I hope this happens because UGA would beat them all three times. Could you imagine the melts from the Bama fans if that happened?

YPP ignored field position. Bama dominated Georgia with starting field position. Those elements cancel each other out mostly.

I’m interested to hear why you think UGA won the game, but it wasn’t due to net YPP (nor TOP, which is related to these two data points)

Excellent breakdown Rig but I fear it will fall on deaf ears.

Gumps aren’t known for their ability to understand second order effects.
