3 Fatal Flaws in Alabama's End Game

The botched non-call on the PI was on 2nd and ten. Alabama was in field goal range with 3 minutes on the clock with 2 time outs plus the 2 minute warning. A field goal would have tied it, and probably taken it into overtime.
Fatal Flaw 1-
On the next play, 3rd and 10, the one thing your QB can't do is take a sack and push you out of FG range. Instead of throwing the ball away and kicking a FG on 4th, he takes a sack.
Fatal Flaw 2-
On the next play, 4th down- Punting instead of going for it. Bama went for it in a similar position earlier in the game, and got it, in the first half when the game wasn't on the line. Now, when the game is on the line, for some reason Bama does not go for it, electing to punt to UGA with 3 minutes left and 2 timeouts plus 2 minute warning, and UGA's run had been unstoppable in the 2nd half of that game.
Fatal Flaw 3- Miraculously, you actually forced UGA into a 3 and out with decent time left on the clock, giving Bama time to get the ball back and use their incredible weapons to get back into FG range for a tie or hail mary it for the outright win. Instead a Bama player loses his composure and commits a penalty that is not controversial, gives UGA a fresh set of downs in which they just kneel out the clock.
The missed PI call sucks for Bama, but that's not why you lost. You lost because of those three things that happened after the missed PI call.
Man up and deal with it.

Bama had 2 timeouts plus the two minute. Other than that, you are correct in the rest of your assessment. Alabama couldn’t overcome the missed no call, but as a UgA fan you can admit it was a bad no call.

If the PI call hadn't been missed none of those three things would have happened.

This is correct.
This was completely in our control. If we run the ball we at least attempt a makable (not guaranteed) field goal.

If the flag is thrown, we have first and 10 on the UGA 20 with 3 and change on the clock.

You throw away the pi like it was nothing lol
Didn't matter because it was 2nd down and they still had a chance. Imagine where Bama would have been if it had been called. That much closer without a need to pass so in theory no sack.
The Lee fiasco should have been offsetting as both players threw hands correct?
You are talking about 1 penalty being missed. Im sure by now you've seen the facemask on Crowell where his helmet came off? The facemask then the targeting on RCW? If you've seen the video you know by now that was targeting. Great game hopefully we'll see yall again.

It should have been called. It wasn't. But that's not why you lost.

I said last night that the game was won by UGA’s OL. UGA was the better team, but Alabama should have had a better chance to pull out at least a tie. It was a dud of an ending because the refs didn’t make the call. Gunner would’ve had a couple of minutes and timeouts. That would have been a more satisfying ending for everyone.

I see you are still in the coping phase.
Get over it. Get it out of your head. UGA and Bama are hands down the best teams in the SEC and we'll get a rematch, either SECCG or playoffs. This ain't over.

Or even better- SECCG AND playoffs. We could play each other 3 times this year.
Move on. You got Tennessee next week and we got Auburn. Let's both take care of business against those dirty bastards to get one step closer to meeting again.

Im just replying to your post that is obviously wrong. Of which you can't admit or condede truth to my post. Why just throw one wrong penalty call when there were so many? You should have disregarded them all.
I looked at this game as a measuring stick on Alabamas progress from last year and against top competition. Im well aware that we'll probably see these two teams again and look forward to it.

Thinking you guys have au this year lol though they do play yall hard from time to time. Where is the game at?

I don't know off the top of my head. I kind of forgot Auburn exists.

I corrected OP, assuming this is correct. But it makes my case even stronger.

Speaking of ifs ands and buts and in theory,
Let's say our DB doesn't commit PI. He turns around to look for the ball that was incoming directly to him and intercepts it. Game over Alabama. That PI was, in a way, a gift to you. It gave you several chances to find a way to still win.

The fatal flaws are a Sun Belt DC and an OC who got run out of town by a team that won the Super Bowl the very next year, and the Mountain West coach that hired them.

The flaw in your reasoning is that if the PI was called Bama probably gets 3 or 7 points and those things you mentioned probably never happen.
