First, this won’t happen. The reaction would be much like that to the Super League in European soccer. Too many fans would turn away. It also assumes there is some central power orienting this - there isn’t. College football is a bunch of regional kingdoms fighting for their share of the pie. There isn’t some overarching league or body that is going to magically swoop up 28 random schools and call it a day. Why would Ohio State, for instance, want this proposed super league model? Or Alabama? They already benefit the most from the current system.

Second, if this did happen, it wouldn’t be 28 schools. Pick the most elite 10-15 out of those, and there is your super league. Why do Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, and USC need to include the likes of West Virginia, Arkansas, Iowa, or Virginia Tech? This proposal really isn’t stronger than the SEC as it is currently construed. Just makes no sense.

I don't see UCF anywhere, surely this was an oversight?

What could be more American than watching something fail miserably, in Europe, and think it's a good idea to try it here.

Each division is more or less the old ACC, SEC, Big 10, and PAC 10. We’re pretty much back where we started.

It’s close but the same could be said for South Carolina, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Nebraska

I've thought this since the last round of expansion, except its going to 40 or maybe 50. Current SEC Members, Big Ten Members and then the top teams left in the ACC and Big 12 with a split from the NCAA. 10 team divisions that are geographical so in a sense we would get back to what we want.
