When have top 25 rankings 6 months prior to the start of a football season ever been "exciting"?

This has always been true. And when you’re constantly somewhere 1-5 for the past 15 years it’s even more meaningless. Thankful Alabama has a basketball team unlike a small, small majority of the SEC.

Shhh, we're fine being unranked.

I feel bad that Georgia fans are more excited about football preseason rankings in March than March Madness

I don't.

But, we can all understand why Bama fans would feel this way.

That's not true. We beat our preseason ranking in 2014 and 2015.

Ole Miss pre-season to post-season rankings (AP poll)
2022 - #21 --> not ranked
2016 - #11 --> not ranked
2015 - #17 --> #10
2014 - #18 --> #17
2009 - #8 --> #20

It's almost like they don't put any thought into their rankings at all.

Does anybody know the last team to 3 peat? Thats right, since the poll era there has not been one. The odds are way in favor Of UGA not doing it.

The "poll era" is speaking only of the beginning of the AP Poll in 1936. However, Minnesota is officially recognized as the only program to have won 3 in a row in 1934-35-36.

As for Georgia's odds? DAWGS WILL DO IT!!!!

I think at this point, nobody is trusting A&M.

It’s real easy to forget that they lost arguably the best back in the SEC and they are still running out a true sophomore with a questionable OL. On D their LB core has be thinned out with no real quality replacements and there are still some questions on the back end.

Those holes coming off of 5-7 and playing in the SEC will not get you ranked initially. Prove it and the ranking will come, but too many question marks.

Your alter radar needs to be serviced.

Texas should be pretty good this year, and while they could beat Georgia, I would put that probability around 20%.. meaning one out of every 5 games.. maybe.. and that still might be too high.

So yeah.. your radar clearly isn’t working right.

I mean, to a point, I get that. But, last years expectations were over blown. The guys from that epic class were all freshmen.

ok. You just troll too much, and that tends to ruin it when you make a legit thread like this one.

Voters are absolute fricking morons year in and out by ranking them. Texas does the same ole all hat no cattle song and dance every year.

People think it’s good for the overall landscape of the game for Texas to be relevant again. When in reality, Texas was only a great program when Royal was there 60 years ago.

They had a great run from 2001-2009 that accumulated 1 national title and other than that they are a historically 7-5 program the last 40 years. The end.

Too bad they don't know how to hunt. Not an ounce of killer instinct inside that program.

Apathy is usually the route one takes when we have 3 national titles to your 1 the last 25 years. So called “powerhouse” lol
