Auburn can't have a trap game. If anything, we'll be SJSU's trap game.

Did anyone read this article? I'm not sure the author understands what a trap game is.

For example, he picked Ole Miss as a trap game for Arkansas, and justifies it as being sandwiched between LSU and Missouri. He then goes on to say that Arkansas might be riding high if they beat LSU and will expect to beat Missouri, but will be fairly well-matched by Ole Miss.

This isn't a trap game at all. This is just a tough SEC matchup. One expects a trap game to be an easy game, potentially sandwiched between tough opponents or before a significant game that causes the team to look ahead or not prepare for the game at hand.

A lot of the examples in the original article are similar.

He doesn't.

Classic example for AU last year was SCarolina on the road. Came off an embarrassing meltdown against MSU, Iron Bowl the following week, presumed lousy opponent. Team played like they didn't give a shite, and it cost them.

I suppose Mizzou would be the most logical candidate to be our "trap game" in 2022, except that we aren't significantly more talented or better coached than they are, so it's probably a toss-up anyway.

Lol @ Tennessee being considered a trap game.

You're right. Not a trap game. Vols will be favored.

How is Kentucky considered a "trap game" for Miss State? Kentucky is gonna beat that arse.

LSU isn't going to win more than 6 games this Fall. That is good enough for all of us to see BK is behind in getting LSU ready to compete this Fall.

Ole Miss is never a trap game for Bama, but I give the Ole Miss fan props for the attempt at perception.

State will be a trap game on the road more for Arkansas than Ole Miss at home.

I don't think they will, but if there was a time that they would drop 3 in a row, its that week.

Kind of funny the State and UK have the same trap game. I’m no rocket scientist but I’m guessing one of them definitely loses their trap game.

I think miss state is. Not us. We will probably put 400 yards of offense on y’all in the first half again

I highly doubt that given its a Kyle field and our offense will slow things down. Then again, yall used "covid" as an escape goat the last time yall were supposed to travel to Texas.

You’re not wrong about any of that. It’s impressive and annoying.

Honestly I’ll take it at this point. Y’all are still talented and Death Valley can swing a game just like Neyland. I think our biggest trap game is at Carolina

How is Miss St and Uk both each other’s trap game. Trap game for us would be at Missouri or USc at home imo

Escape goat is an "eggcorn," a word or phrase that is a mishearing of another word or expression. Scapegoat is one word and has a specific meaning related to its Biblical origins. Escape goat seems to refer to a farm animal that's good at sneaking out of its pen, not someone who is blamed for the mistakes of others.
