Auburn, since 2015, has had between 44-46 kids on the roster with 4* or 5* ratings all eleven seasons since they started keeping track, except for 3: 2022: 34 kids (Harsin’s 2nd season) 2023: 35 kids (Freeze’s 1st season) 2024: 43 kids (Freeze’s 2nd season) This season, Auburn is back up to 46 such kids.

This composite still uses high school rankings for guys who have way overperformed or underperformed their ranking.

It’s a flawed list that not much stock can be put into.

Example:

Eric Singleton Jr and Xavier Chaplin are counted as three stars.

Addison West was a 3 star recruit. He was the 102nd ranked guard in 2019. He was a first team All-American last season.

24/7’s roster composite said there were over 1,500 players better than him.

Easy fix would be to keep the recruiting rankings for the players from HS that haven't transferred out no matter what year they are in, and then for those that do transfer use the transfer rankings. It will never be exact team talent/composite, but that way it does factor in transfer portal additions more accurately. For Mizzou specifically, Hardy is listed as NA. He was a 4* transfer.

Every national champion since 2015 has been in the top six of this ranking except for two (Clemson was #9 in 2016 and Michigan was #13 in 2023)

I wonder how Michigan did it.

Can’t wait to make you bite the curb this year. I guess you’ll always have your one victory in 75 years. you’re as bad as Tenner. Loses to your rival two decades in a row, win one game and you rush the field. It’s embarrassing

No team has done less with more than LSU, with the possible exception of Oregon.

Looks like 2025 LSU will be the most talented team (on paper) Kelly has ever coached.
So better than last year when they didn’t make the playoffs?

Texas A&M has a DE who came out of HS as a 4 star, played 4 years at Pitt, has started a lot of games and been ACC defensive POW twice. Plus a redshirt year at Colorado.

I would say with that much experience and performance might ought to rank him higher than where he came out of HS.

My analysis:

1. Alabama-my sons classmate first year at QB, no Saban
2. Georgia- New QB, can they run the ball
3. Ohio State-New everything, but only play two-three teams than have a chance to beat them
4. Texas-New QB but it’s a manning, tough road games
5. Oregon- They are ducks, who gives a frick
6. LSU- How will CBK frick this up, can they run the damn ball

Truth is we about to find out why we really don’t know shite, great teams win not great players. To win a natty you need to be lucky too. So who is the luckiest team

That could happen.

Doesn't change the past year, though.

Hope you have better luck against Tennessee teams this year!

Their methodology is flawed.

It is a snapshot of high school recruits. It does not factor in experience or player development.

The talent roster composite says a true freshmen second string 5 star is a more talented player than a returning All-American senior who was a 4 star recruit.

I get your arguments, and they are valid....no system is going to be 100%.....but if teams in the top 6 win it the vast majority of the time, it seems to do pretty good.

They had 13 players drafted in 2024, the most that year.

Give me a break with the sign stealing. They had to stop that midseason and still beat everyone.
