quote:Yeah I gave a double-take to the final scoreline. Only giving up 3 runs on 10 hits while also committing an error and somehow getting 6 runs on 4 hits is impressive.
And wow. What timely hitting by the Gators.

It has been two good days of baseball. This has been fun to watch. And just a warmup for what is to come.

Great Game LSU, would've love to seen PS and Hagen pitch it out but understand the coaching decisions. Probably see you again Sat and I don't even care if you win and I'm serious. Hogs, Tigers and Gators are all really good enough to win it all can't wait to see who takes it all.

Wow what great baseball we have witnessed over the last few days being the Gator homer that I am I still don't think we have played our best game in the touneyy yet.

we have had some damn good games. Hopefully today will be no different. It's crazy how close so many of our teams are.

SEC tournament stronger bracket than the CWS most likely.

best of luck to both teams playing this first game, obviously I would have loved for Carolina to be there but yall both got us. I will admit, I really wanted to SC to beat A&M just to get onnnnne more shot at LSU. From a USC perspective it would have been very comical if we could have gotten that game and won to tie the series again.
that said, we suck right now so good luck to the teams that currently don't suck

Breaking news the cws title this year will come from the sec these teams have the best talent coaches pitchers and built for the post season oh I forgot they are battle tested there is about six sec teams who can win it all remember the two Mississippi schools going into the post season they both weren't the favorites and won that's what's so scary about our league.

Is Arkansas still trying to throw all of their games?

Is the SECT bracket format a mess or is it just me?

They way they make it to fit on a single page has always made it a mess to me.

This is so much better visually for me.
If you're talking about the basic format, then I agree it's not the best to decide on a champion to prepare for regionals properly.
A round robin, pool play tourney would be best suited to get everyone ready for regionals and not overwork teams. A true double elim with byes would best decide the champion but that would be entirely too many games.

Who's starting today for aTm?

I haven't seen it announced anywhere, but I would assume Will Johnston. He's been a closer turned starter since all our starters have sucked 99% of the year.

Assuming two top 4 seeds make it out of their brackets, the championship game will be between a 3-0 team and a 3-1 team. That doesn’t feel right. Usually the winner of the losers bracket has to win one more game to win the tournament than the winner of the winners bracket.
Basically I can’t wrap my head around how Arkansas and Florida are on the same footing as the winner of today’s games when they’re 2-0 vs 2-1. It seems like Florida and Arkansas shouldn’t be playing each other in a single elimination game. If so then the winner should have to lose twice to the team coming from the loser’s bracket.

Arkansas and Florida are not playing each other.
Arkansas plays the A&M/LSU winner. Florida plays the Alabama/Vanderbilt winner.

Agree but you can’t have that many games before regionals. For a team who didn’t get a bye to come thru the losers bracket would be 7 games in a week.

They're not. It was a mistake. Florida plays the winner of Vandy/Bama. Hogs plays the winner of LSU/aTm. After that, it's single elimination no matter what.

I know and agree 100%. Just make it single elimination then. The SEC gets a ridiculous number of bids. The winner of the auto bid is irrelevant.
