Not a flame just an observation. At some point, as an upstart program that’s very talented, you crush the competition. You crown yourself. And then you shite the bed.

There is no doubt Bama basketball is formidable. Imho, the best team I’ve seen this year and I said that before they de-pantsed LSU. But I’m legitimately surprised at how quickly Tide fans have crowned this team. How many times do we need to see this ? Round 2 of the NCAA playoffs and you get bounced by some MAC team. Because that’s how the sports gods operate.

Seriously, not flaming. I just never expected Bama fans who know these things to crown themselves after beating a supremely bad LSU team. It’s so reminiscent of Tennessee baseball fans last year. Maybe you two lovers should get a room. Ok that was a flame .

We haven't crowned them anything other than a really really good team who has the makeup and depth to possibly win a bunch of games in March. Hell, winning the SEC is gonna be a challenge.

Doesn't mean they will. The tournament is hard as hell and nobody knows that more than us.

They’ll crash and burn in March. Won’t make it to the Final Four. Their delusional fanbase and bastard HC thinks they will, but they’ll collapse like they always do.

They’re the best team in CBB. Only problem with their style of play is if they have a cold shooting night in the tournament (which many teams do), will they be able to grind out a win

One of the reasons the Houston game was so refreshing. That's basically what happened.

Alabama basically shot average today against LSU... Wasn't even an abnormal performance.

This is less to do with how good Alabama was today. It was more how abysmal LSU is

People downvoting like we haven't seen team after team, year after year peak in January, look unstoppable, and then lose it and never get it back. And I remember a lot of Bama fans saying not to enjoy those Auburn runs in January because they don't matter.

I agree with this. I have seen Bama many times in my years of following look to be amoung the best in the country only to lose to some nobody in the sweet 16 or the first round. 1976, 1978, 1982,1987,1989,1991,2004, 2021 all should have been final four teams.
1976 lost to eventual national champ Indiana
1982 had beaten georgetown, St Johns and ucla and lost to Lamar in the first round
1987 looked to be the best team in America and lost to Providence and Billy Donovan.
1978 Bama beat UK 78-62 only to lose to pathetic arse Vandy that killed any chance of the NCAA tourney.

We've seen Alabama teams play insane for 3 weeks and then cool back to just being good (2020/2021 is a example).

This team isn't on some run. They've played basically the same for the entire season. They aren't on some sort of hot streak.

Tournament is fickle. We have tons of experience with this on the wrong end. Best built team we've had for the tournament in terms of depth, diversity of ways to win games, talent, etc in a very long time. Just hope we stay healthy and get Nimari back.
