I'm no huge Obrien fan, but I think he is being used as a cop-out so we don't have to face reality. He's the same coordinator that set records last season. We have massive talent deficiencies, especially at WR, that some just can't admit.
I wasn't going to respond to you but BoB’s scheme is terrible, route trees are awful, and playcalling is worse than anything. He threw the ball 51 times when Bryce was obviously hurt and struggled to get the ball to his receivers. BoB is our problem on offense and it's not debatable. If you think differently, you can't be watching the games.

OL that can't consistently run block
Yes we can. He abandons the run as fast as he can. OL is not an issue and we have WR talent but our best ones are all Fr and So.

What is the magic that you suggest he sprinkle onto the offense?
Go back and look at last year. A lot of RPO plays, where we had a back who could go inside, outside or catch the ball. You can look at which RB is in the game and know what the run plays are.
We were predictable last year, but the talent at RB and WR was able to overcome it. We don’t have it now, but we run plays as if we did. Then there’s the platoon of receivers we’re using. How is Bryce going to develop timing with them when it’s a different grouping every other play?

I'm struggling to find any reason 2023 Alabama won't be a further dropoff from this team. This was supposed to be the dominant team with next season lining up as a rebuild year.
Milroe as QB? Or an untested Ty Simpson?
Same WR corp that played like shite against UGA in the title game, and all of this season.
No obvious OL solution. Losing 3-4 starters.
TE Latu gone.
HB Gibbs likely gone.
Losing a minimum of 7 defensive starters including Will Anderson.
Saban another year older. Same DC likely. Maybe stuck with Obrien again.
Can anyone point to any concrete reason Bama should improve? The only optimism I see is that Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee will be home games.
That is a really nice Home Schedule you all have next year, Season ticket holders have some good games on that lineup

They will need a Qb, but who's going to be available

I really really want to make fun of y’all and say that Saban is done but I know that he’ll pull in a ridiculous transfer class with the already ridiculous recruiting class and upgrade his coordinators

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Saban is an average coach, but the best recruiter. He has been playing ball with a better roster. Better athletes from top to bottom cover a lot of issues and make most coordinators / coaches look like GODS.
Bama's edge has he has out recruited LSU in Louisiana. Go look back at Bama's most dominant teams, most of that is Louisiana boys. Imagine those teams minus those players and you have average to slightly better than average teams.
UGA, A$M and now LSU stepping up recruiting has hurt Saban.
LSU winning year one with BK is HUGE. If LSU starts to put a fence around Louisiana, Bama will be middle of the pack SEC team

And teams aren’t scared of bama anymore

You know who sucks third down, both bama’s coordinators! Shame on Saban for for taking the easy way out, both in keeping them for continuity’s sake and losing his make them quit mindset.

I’m sure you guys will get some stud transfers to fill in gaps. JG is an unbelievable talent that wasn’t there last year. Surprised Burton hasn’t done more. I remember what a stud he was coming out of high school

He's the same coordinator that set records last season.
That’s because he had Young throwing to Williams and Metchie and did nothing to adapt when those two were no longer available.
He’s great when he’s got a talent advantage at every skill position but refused to change things up.

This is dumb. Sure Saban pulls a couple good Louisiana kids a year, but you are talking as if LSU just now started recruiting well and Saban's entire model was built around locking down Louisiana. Take away Louisiana kids and Saban would have found another 4 or 5 star in Miami, LA, Dallas, or DC.

You got more punchlines or you want to answer the question? I didn't say I was going to give up or quit watching. I gave my honest opinion that this isn't some easy fix like turning around the 2010 team was. We will be good, we will be contenders, but we lose a lot. Hell, we may end up with a better record but be a worse team.

BoB comes back and that turns me into a soccer fan.
Saban knows what needs to be done. I’ll give him a chance but if coaching personnel isn’t shaken up by the end of spring training 9-3 will be all we can look forward to.
Maybe…
