The day Coach Saban retires is approaching rapidly. It has nothing to do with his knowledge of the game, or his in-game coaching, or even his assistants and staff. NIL is killing him. It's turning the game into a mini version of the NFL with players who are able to market themselves and bring in personal cash flow NOW. It gives the players a whole different mindset, and Coach Saban is no longer looked up to by his players as a mentor who can prepare them and elevate them to the next level. They now view him as a steppingstone in their climb to the ranks of the NFL.

Discipline has flown out the window, and Coach Saban doesn't have the mindset or the desire to deal with players whose focus and desire is on bringin' in dat dollah ahead of methodically climbing the mountain to become the best you can be in your growth as a player and a team member.

The overall game has changed and it's not a change that he has prepared himself to deal with. It's no fault of his, and it doesn't make him a lesser man or coach. It simply is what it is. There comes a time when you have to let your prime bull retire to the pasture surrounded by all the awards he's won and calves he's sired, and let him live in the glowing admiration of his fans.

Saban has earned his place in college football history. He's the best of the best - surpassing even The Bear. He sits atop the mountain. It's time that he took a moment to look around and savor the view.

You make some good points, but I'd argue that he has prepared for it, there is just so much you can do.

He'll retire when retires, but its not like our program is some kind of sinking ship lol

Many of them down right fricking suck.

I can see it. Bama loses two regular season games and some Bama fans are ready to throw in the towel. Comes off very spoiled and entitled. Most teams would love to just have a season like that.

Burton did nothing? He got national attention for himself and Alabama by slugging a 90 lb girl. Now that was really something.

You got more punchlines or you want to answer the question? I didn't say I was going to give up or quit watching. I gave my honest opinion that this isn't some easy fix like turning around the 2010 team was. We will be good, we will be contenders, but we lose a lot. Hell, we may end up with a better record but be a worse team.

Your lack of knowing the players on the team is what your questions amount to really. I'm not any better in that regard, I suck at this shite. But I know recruiting has never been better and any issues Alabama has are not talent related. It's silly.

The real question is will we have coordinators and assistant coaches who are able to coach them up to the standard Alabama is use to. And that's a question that can only be answered in time.

You mention Milroe, but Milroe is better than Blake Sims.

You only ask these questions because you are melting. Especially in the manner you asked them in.

Time for Nick Saban to be sent into retirement.

Is there a HC waiting to take over the Alabama football program after Nick Saban?
