Kentucky and Alabama look loaded this year.
Arkansas apparently only has 1 solid starter apparently.
Yeah we suck. Pay no attention to us. Clearly Kentucky and Alabama are better.

Wade hasn’t lost to Tennessee since his first season and Auburn was a sub .500 team who lost their best player.

Has literally nothing to do with a preseason poll.

We’re also better than Arkansas.

I mean, maybe, but based on what?

The media can keep trying to deny reality, after all that’s what lefty’s do, but LSU will be a top 3 SEC team and challenge to win the conference just like we do every season.

LOL you didn't challenge to win the conference last season. You were 5-1 in the SEC, had your soul drained out by Alabama in Baton Rouge, lost 4 of 5 and were never in the Conference Title picture after that.

Arkansas is arguable I guess but we both lost 3 starters, we have more firepower coming in and Wade has a winning record vs Musselman. And yes it does matter that Wade is unbeaten and finished better than Barnes over the last 3 seasons. Tennessee’s roster isn’t better than LSU’s so of course recent history comes into play.

I think you could take the Top 6, put them all in a hat, shake it up and draw the names out and come up with who finishes in those spots.

I do think certain teams are more risky than others and LSU is the riskiest of the 6. Kentucky probably the least risky given the massive talent up and down the roster that can score. Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Auburn somewhere in the middle.

Yes you’re right my mistake, last season you guys ran away with it but we still finished top 3 and were a tip in away from winning the conference tourney which is as close as anybody not named Alabama.

No doubt - Wade has proven that his teams are going to win 10+ SEC games every year. Wouldn't be shocked to see them do it again this year.

That’s def a possibility, it’s basketball and with roster turnover in college hoops there’s always that measure of uncertainty which is why objective predictions usually go by coaching. I don’t agree that we’re the most risky because recent history proves we’ve produced regardless of player losses and injuries. Wade has outperformed pre season predictions every year while guys like Barnes has failed to reach theirs which is his career trend yet somehow the media ignores it. It won’t matter anyway come January because we’ll do what we’ve done since Wade arrived which is finish top 3 and likely be competing for the reg season title.

You won’t finish top 3 this year. I don’t think you finish top 5.

This is Muss 3rd year (had 7 players his first year).

I don’t think anyone besides a few LSU fans think Wade is anywhere close to the coach Muss is.

Kentucky will be much better (Mix of young and old players), Auburn will be much improved and has a better coach.

Bama will be good as well so yea at beat you finish 5th. TN will be better this year as well

This years LSU roster isn’t even as talented as last years who was an 8 or 9 seed. Can’t remember

I agree. I think they will be great this year.

I also think Auburn, Arkansas, Bama and TN will be really good this year

It’s Cal’s most experienced squad in awhile. It’ll be interesting to see how they come together.

Still sad Jackson got wasted on such a shitty season.

Lol it’s much more talented top to bottom and has a lot more depth. Your Musselman comment is ironic, claiming that Wade’s status is homer based when your assessment of Musselman is exactly that totally ignoring the facts. Even if you took Wade’s first season where we finished 9th in the SEC Wade’s teams average finishing higher than 5th so your prediction isn’t based on data at all.

1. Kentucky

2. Alabama

3. Arkansas

4. Tennessee

5. Auburn

6. LSU

7. Florida

8. Mississippi State

Tourney teams. Order will differ, but I think this is the cut line.

Edit: I could see Florida or LSU coaching their way to the other side of the cut line.

Debatable.

Chris Lykes - 15 PPG, preseason 1st team all-ACC
Au'Diese Toney - Averaged 14/6 in ACC
Stanley Umude - 21 PPG, 9th in NCAA in scoring

Also have 4* PG KK Robinson back after missing nearly all of last year with a foot injury. Hard to really compare all things equal though because LSU has more HS recruits while Arkansas has more transfers.

I like what Auburn has this year. If we stay healthy at guard we're going to exceed expectations

Isn’t Umudu from South Dakota or South Dakota St.? Hard to gage how legit of a scorer he really is. The other two guys, Lykes and Toney can be compared to Pinson, Eason and Miller at LSU plus we’ve got the 6th ranked class coming in while Arkansas is ranked 84th.

The thought crossed my mind when Will was up 40 on Muss in the first half last year. And again when he beat him in the SECT.
