Funny thing about that Vandy game, as many points as they scored, Vandy was forced into 7 3-and-outs, and 3 5-and-outs. That's ten drives that ended in punts or downs after 5 or fewer plays. There were 33 possessions total in that game.

Delpit was hurt and played. He couldn’t move laterally in that game.

That undefeated team lost the TOP battle pretty much all season. The defense was on the field the whole game.

Vandy's defense returned a fumble for a touchdown when it was 38-10.
LSU also fumbled on their own like 5 yard line.

O called the defense in that game - his hands were all over that game plan.

31st nationally in total defense and scoring defense. Elite defense, no. But it was far from bad

That makes sense. In terms of Natty D’s I’d describe lsu 2019 D as the “scrappy gym rat guy”

LSU defense was easily the best in the country the final 5 games of the season when they got healthy vs a Arkansas team (8-5)Texas A&M #4 Georgia #4 Oklahoma #3 Clemson.

against the toughest schedule in college football history with a banged up defense until the end of the year when they became the best defense in college football while healthy.
Best season and team of all time in college football.
we all said it but it resonates better on video.

another lie we caught from the gumps.
LSU finished 25th in total defense and 5th in the SEC. Behind State, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky.

LSU finished 26th in scoring defense with an injured defense until the end of the year and the toughest schedule of all time in college football.
