don't think Alabama is going to follow up their 2020 season by going .500

that doesn’t devalue LSU’s 2019 season at all.

certainly devalues the LSU program

Absolutely it does. It puts LSU in Auburn Cam Newton territory. They have the most likely greatest season in program history and all they did was piss Nick Saban off.

How does Saban and Alabama respond? By kicking the ever loving crap out of them both the following year and winning the National Title.

LSU's flash in the pan year likely will be just like Auburn's. Because they look to be 1-10 vs Alabama when the dust settles this year.

Glad I was able to witness two AMAZING teams and their two PHENOMENAL seasons!!
They were the two best teams I've ever seen, and I'm 73. They also both had senior QB's that blossomed only in their final year

I came in here expecting to be trolled and instead OP gave me a Hallmark card and told me what a good friend I am. Now I don't know what to do with my hands.

Here's to whoever follows that up

Nice thread!
A lot of fans from both sides should take note.

It kinda does.

So, by that logic, Bama’s 2019 home loss to LSU devalues the 2020 Bama season.

2019 LSU was one of the best team I've ever witnessed... The best team that year and for at least a half, you dominated Bama and although we made it interesting, the game was never really in doubt.... Burrow was a stone-cold killer and looked like the next Tom Brady...

You could make a strong case for being the GOAT.... Congratulations.....

Meanwhile in 2021....

LSU has won three national championships with its last three coaches over the past 20 years. Calling 2019 a flash in the pan is ignorant as hell.

Noone is going to look back at 2020 and not think about how it was a pandemic year that was almost devoid of any football. Noone outside of Alabama cares about what was accomplished in 2020.

2019 Burrow woulda made 2020 Alabama his bitch.

Based on the team mentality at the time, he would've probably quit.

Two great teams but neither approached the season-long dominance of the one true GOAT (1995 Nebraska).
