Some of the numbers for these teams are off, such as Oregon (#40) and Penn State (#41). They only have 47 and 44 players listed while most other teamshave at least 70.
That's funny, I guess maybe they don't have all the kinks out yet. They just posted it yesterday.

They address the number of recruits in the distribution calcs

but this demonstrates how amazing Gary Patterson and his staff are
Yep, one of if not the best developers of talent. Has a great setup where he can get some very raw but talented guys out of Texas that are under-recruited and build them up.

Now break it down by offense vs defense
Wish they would do that, or even break it down to position group. Would be really interesting.

They posted it some time late last week. They just updated something last night and apparently didn't notice this mistake.

So Tennessee is so shitty because of coaching?

Arkansas ranked too high

What is crazy about this list is how can OSU not go undefeated in the Big every year? I read one coach in the big said anonymously that the talent differential is "shocking" 2 other Big teams in the top 25?!?

Just shows how much margin for error there is in these type of things.

quote:Stoops and his staff have been great at evaluating talent. Several times we have offered a low rated player early and they get a big bump after they attend camps. We also get high three or four stars commit and get poached by Bama or Ohio State before signing day occasionally. But that happens everywhere
Not to take anything away from Stoops but I think this also shows what can happen with some consistency inside the program.

18. Miami (87.91)
they have basically the same rating as the 6 teams in front of them, 4 of which are sec teams, 2 of those from the west including, GASP, auburn!
also, the rant went on and on about how much better washington is than miami. good times.

Miami at #8 was overrated. Why laugh about everyone knowing that besides LSU fans?

OSU proves that it's not just talent. They've won 1 , missed one , 38-0 , missed another.

Dude Washington is coached by Peterson and Miami is coached by Ritch.
That alone is probably worth 10 spots in talent.
Oh yeah, Washington actually has more talent too.
