Who is better? Alabama went this year undefeated while the gators didn't in 08, but sec was a harder conference back in those days

It’s too difficult to compare teams from that far apart since it’s not really the same game anymore.

This is the real debate for who is the GOAT. Florida would have likely beat Alabama by more in '08 had Harvin played.
Florida's defense was sick that year too.

The SEC was a cake walk in 2008.
Two elite teams in Bama and Florida. Two above average teams in Georgia and Ole Miss. The rest of the conference was shite.

Didn't we settle that in 2009? Most of the Gator juniors came back for Florida, including their Heisman winner. They wanted to be the first team to go undefeated in school history and they were going for 3 NCs in a 4 year period. They were looking for historic greatest with one more NC. Bama took care of that in devastating fashion. What's to wonder about?

2008 Florida is a good comparison. I can't think of another team in SEC history that compares

I would argue that the four SEC teams that finished ranked in the Top 25 this year were all very solid teams when they didn't have players opting out or resting up for the SEC Championship Game.

08 Gators defense shutdown an all-time Oklahoma offense. 08 Gators would also score at will on 2020 Bama like many other teams (Gators this year out up 40+ on Bama).

2020 Bama couldn't cover Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney.
Healthy Percy Harvin would've torched that defense.
