I know LSU takes some crap on this board for winning it all with 2 losses (sorry, not sorry), but when you look at how that season played out, it makes perfect sense. This is definitely worth the watch. I forgot just how crazy 2007 was.

When it mattered most, LSU fricked.

California, South Florida, Boston College, Kansas all ranked #2 at one point.
Missouri and West Virginia went in the final weekend of the regular season needing a win to face other for the BCS title, and both lose.
The biggest upset based on point spread with Stanford taking down #1 USC.
FCS App State shocking #5 Michigan
Missouri vs. Kansas each were contending for a a national title.
Man, every weekend was drama.

That God damn fake field goal.

The SC-UK game was a top 11 matchup. We got as high as #6 at 6-1 before losing 5 straight and not going to a bowl at 6-6 (when things like that still happened)

We would have murdered them too had we both got there.

Tennessee wins that SECCG in 07 if Ainge doesn’t go color blind in the 4th quarter. Strangest year ever bar none

In about 50-60 years half a dozen teams will claim the 2007 national championship.

West Virginia beat Oklahoma by 20, the same Oklahoma who beat Missouri twice that season.

Another year that gets lost in the sauce because it was so long ago is 1990. That too was a wild and wacky year. You had a Heisman Trophy winner from a G5 school (Ty Detmer) and a pair of national champions who had never won it before and who most people don't associate with football in the present day (Georgia Tech and Colorado). Add to the fact that things were so crazy that the University of Virginia was the top ranked team in college football as late as early-November and you get a hint of what that season was like.

UK had Woodson right? I was a Sophomore that season. We got poured on just before that game then IIRC no rain at all during the entirety of the game.

Yes, Woodson and Stevie Johnson. Beat two top 10 teams in Louisville and LSU that season. Commonwealth was rocking all season long. Fun time to be a season ticket holder.

By the end of that season, UGA and USC were the best teams in the nation. It's a shame they didn't get to play each other for the NC. If there had been some kind of real playoff in place, perhaps it would have worked out. But that was during the days of the Bull Crap System (BCS), so will still didn't have a real championship.

You can thank UT QB Eric Ainge for getting high on pills and blowing up in the 4th quarter of the SECCG.

#1 Ohio state got slapped by Juice Williams and Illinois, fall to #8 with just a couple weeks left in season, only to rise back up to #1 due to all the upsets.
Then they got smacked by LSU. Crazy year
