I see you've never been to South Bend. Or interacted on anything close to a daily basis with Notre Dame fans.

All the trolling that Texas fans do here ? That really is how Notre Dame thinks of themselves. I wouldn't care if they were the most valuable team on the planet ... no thanks. Go elsewhere.

But go ahead, schedule them Vols. Then tell me how great it is to hear them bitch about Neyland the entire time they're there. Because that's what Notre Dame does.

I get what you're saying, and understand the points being made about the lack of cultural fit. But this isn't Northwestern or Stanford we're talking about... it's Notre Dame. Notre Dame is inextricably linked to college football history, and weekly clashes between ND and SEC stalwarts would be absolutely awesome.

I don't care if they think highly of themselves, I care about watching compelling football and the only other non-SEC school in the same stratosphere is Ohio State.

We know your program is not a football program.

But your posters have zero clues, too.

Damn.

OkState. Reason: they are a fit
Notre Dame Reason: they are opposite of a fit.

Anyone opposed to taking Notre Dame needs their head examined. The odds of them coming to the SEC over joining the Big Ten/remaining independent seem incredibly slim, but they're far and away the most sought after "available" school and likely the only program outside of the 2024 Big Ten that would actually boost the SEC payout.
ND has strong numbers, but not strong enough that we need a team that plays five miles from the Michigan state line. They'd be a better fit for the Big Ten if the ACC implodes, and there are ACC teams that would be a better fit in the SEC, if we decided to expand again (which I hope doesn't happen soon, and really shouldn't until the ACC's fate is decided when their grant of rights gets closer to expiring in 2036). As long as they can get an at large bid to the playoff, and have ACC access for scheduling their other sports, I don't think they are going to join a conference.

How about we don’t ever take anyone else forever?

I don’t get to go to the swamp every other year.

I don’t get to go to Neyland every other year.

And it is only gonna get worse.

I wish all you newbies would get out of my yard.

I dont think either of those school work for the SEC. UNC and Virginia need to be next or Clemson and UNC.

Or better yet, nobody else at all

These types of posts are the reasons well meaning new posters ask why our fanbase gets trash. You can’t make trash posts like this my man.

Most SEC fans can’t even spell Notre Dame, let alone imagine sharing a conference with them. If they think we are Yankees they think ND is in Canada.

No, nope... nuh-uh.

Really wish ND's independent BS would catch up to them and have no seat when the music stops.

Probably not gonna happen, but the SEC might actually implode under the whiny weight of both Texass & ND. It's science & shite.

could not agree more. They would benefit our conference both athletically and academically.

ND - absolutely. They’d replace Texas as the SEC’s new punching bag. It would be hilarious

I just don’t care about expanding the footprint.

Don’t frick up the sec just for more tv sets.

Did the sec not learn its lesson on the second recent expansion?

Yes nc and Va have a lot of people. But the ACC teams in those states don’t move the needle for football except for VT.
