Wait, baseball is a top 4 revenue sport now?
I have been assured on this very board that it’s a fringe activity.
Texas A&M Financials by Sport for FY2024
Revenue, expenses, profit/loss
Football: $118.5 million, $90.8 million, $27.7 million profit
Baseball: $5.6 million, $9.2 million, $3.6 million loss
Softball: $1 million, $4.3 million, $3.3 million loss
Women’s basketball: $1.2 millions, $7.4 million, $6.2 million loss
Men’s basketball: $12.2 million, $14.3 million, $2.1 million loss
I would say there is one big sport, football, and a bunch of fringe sports at Texas A&M.

Guessing this loss ratio is similar across all women's basketball programs.
LSU and SC are probably better but guessing they still lose money..

It really is. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about the baseball season.
I know we have a long way to go to compete for the title but it's going to be fun trying to get there.

I was surprised to see the two men’s programs other than football, who happen to currently be ranked in each sport and have had a fair amount of success, lost so much money.

LSU currently has 8 teams ranked in the top 10 of their respected sport.

If LSU will just put a little focus, and figure out what the sport actually is, they can be ranked in more.
College Quidditch Rankings
Make it happen Stephen. Bring the (googling quidditch) quaffle home to the red stick.

Can you name them without looking them up? Other than baseball and women’s basketball, have you watched one this season?

Nobody seems to care much about women's basketball regardless.
We've pretty clearly cared about men's basketball for a very long time.
The same people that like baseball before like baseball now.

College baseball has been more fun to attend in person. No real nosebleed seats in college baseball, very rarely insanely sized crowds, and oddly enough the sport that has been changed the least in the pace and flow of the game over the years.
If you liked baseball in the 80s, you probably don't see a lot of difference in the pacing of the game; football and basketball, on the other hand, have shifted drastically.
