Will be 3 of 4 here in a few years when BK is added to this list

You think a coach that never won the SEC will be added to the Mount Rushmore of SEC coaches?

West Virginia is every bit trailer park trashy as Alabama.

That's rich coming from someone in Louisiana

We have less meth and less murdering each over for not being upset enough about the loss.

We also don’t call in bomb threats to stadiums

That doesn’t mean it won’t be a great hire in the long run. But that would just be my concern, that and the fact that he had such a good quarterback for the last two years too….would like to have seen how he would have responded w/o Penix to fully judge if he is the right guy for the job.

In a perfect world, sure we would want every single question answered. We would love to know how Lanning does without Bo Nix in a tougher conference. Same for Norvell without Jordan Travis.

Recruiting is my only concern I would have wanted to see better results. But the game has changed so fast that I’m not sure if the living room chat with Mom is going to matter as much as who has the bigger bag of cash and who can develop players. He will have the cash and I feel good about his development skills.

I do think he was one of three or four that you could have hired to make the best chance for a new transition from the Saban era.

And we couldn’t possibly ask for more than that. The rest is left up to DeBoer to make the most of it and the alumni to back him and give him some grace to make the program his.

Why are bama fans working so hard to convince themselves that this was a good hire?

Why is everyone else here working so hard to convince us that this was a bad hire?

It either will turn out to be a good hire or not. Neither your post nor mine will have any impact on that.

I sense that a handful of other fan bases here are so, so disappointed that Alabama hired one of the hotter coaches in college football less than 48 hours after Saban announced his retirement. You guys were so looking forward to a messy, embarrassing weeks long coaching search. You were robbed.

I just feel like you got a late jump on the coaching search too honestly….so many guys have signed new contracts by now.

What are you talking about? Every post on this board right now is about Alabama’s new coach and how he will do at Alabama.

I mean we were all told a new coach would be named in 72 hours, there was no reason not to believe that considering it's nearly mid January.
