To the OP: I had a set of these as a kid. They are long gone now and I had completely forgotten about them until now. Thank you so much for finding and posting these. They bring back some fond memories for me.

Re: the Iowa State 'chicken': their mascot is Cy the Cardinal, because when they decided they needed a mascot back in the '50s it was agreed that 'you can't stuff a cyclone'. But that thing looks nothing like a cardinal, so who knows.
My question is, why is the Bama guy's hat not plaid, err houndstooth?
